Hey Chris, I've read some papers over the technology of car batteries, and I feel that this is a fairly new tactic, but companies are experimenting with connecting the positive terminal to the car ground and connecting the wires to the negative terminal directly, and apparently it doesn't demand much change in existing, older vehicles either and everything would run just fine, if not better, since the resistances to the electronic equipment is less if the car body carries it compared to if thin wires carry it, and the biggest downside is more corrosion risks in the body and chassis and fixing that is something you've covered too many times to keep count of

As a mechanic that specializes in the electrical systems and newer development and Eevee vehicles I can agree lithium batteries do have some benefits however there are also some drawbacks that I wish were mentioned in the video first off if you live in a Northern environment where it drops below -1 maybe reconsider lithium they do not fare well in cold with even their performance dropping below half I believe batteries could make a pretty good video all in itself

man my first car eg3 shitbox with a 1. 3l engine had the same muffler issue infact my one fell complete off due to rust and rot however it made it sound so mean for such a small and weak engine. Damn i miss that car despite the fact how slow it was it was my first car and i loved it despite all of its rust and rot. Sold it to my friend which he is rebuilding and hes going to put a 1. 6 proper vtec engine in it i just hope i get to drive it again one day

I remember watching the video of you buying the del sol from the previous owner when i was a kid and now in a year am gonna be an adult. Life can be pretty unpredictable at times and i think we all appreciate that you don't only show how to fix our cars/project cars but you tell us valuable lessons for life and to achieve our goals even if think their impossible.

From what I gathered from these comments is that Chris accidentally gave us the most important lesson in project cars: Sometimes life gets in the way so your progress slows down or stops and that is okay! If ChrisFix can do it, so does everyone else!

Its allways cool to see someone modifiyng a del sol. I got 2 del sol, one Esi and the Vti and i paint the Vti by my self, modified my exhaust, add some good speaker/subwoofer, change the wheels, and some others little things. I hope i'm gonna keep it until my death (sry for my english i'm swiss)

I also love now he says just get it on the road despite those problems he was saying in my area my car would be scrapped and towed with the same issues everything needs to be Factory in stock to meet the admission standards but once it's insured here pretty much good to let it fall the s again

Chris, I am glad you posted this! I have been waiting years. I watched this fully and enjoyed every bit.
I started following the Del Sol project when i was in 5th grade i think I am now a sophomore in highschool and I was excited to see this!

I tried to hold on I really did. But the frustration of one thing breaking after another on it. I ended up selling it the ek is gone. Sorry Chris may start up again with the IS300 but no promises. Love the video of course but just sad cause it reminded me of my hatch.

Man my project car needs a transmission and I’m honestly scared to tackle it, cars not worth spending the money on a shop too do so I’m not sure what I’m gonna go. Just sitting in the shop, also don’t have the space to do the work. Just scared yk

I have been watching your videos for 8 years, and thanks to you, I just rebuilt my first engine on my dad's old car that had been sitting for 8 years. It has been 900 km, and so far, the car runs fine. There’s still a lot more to do, though.

Hey, Chris. Thanks for the video. I once had an instructor who always told me to break the lugnut loose before lifting the vehicle. What you did at 20: 26 got me in trouble with him. What do you think is the best way of removing wheels. Thanks.

Another thing I should remind you man, you might've forgotten because of the same reasons your del sol had to wait this long, you had to made a video over a locking mechanism for an open differential, like the one on you B-3000
