Change your car with Carwow: It’s time for a tuned car vs supercar drag race! We’ve once again got our hands on the almighty Ferrari SF90, and it’s going up against a VW Golf R & a BMW M240i! But of course, the VW and BMW are able to put down a serious amount of power! Let’s take a closer look at the stats. First up, we have the Golf R. The original engine has been ripped out and replaced with a 2. 5-litre 5-cylinder turbo from an RS3! This has been worked on further, and it now produces 1, 048hp and 1, 114Nm! Power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed DCT auto gearbox, and all in, it costs around 100, 000! Next up, we have the M240i. As with the stock car, it’s packing a 3-litre 6-cylinder turbo, but the engine has been fully built, and it now puts down 1, 014hp and 1, 100Nm! This power is sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed auto, and all in, it costs around 85, 000. As for the SF90, it’s equipped with a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 as well as three electric motors! These combine to produce 1, 000hp and 800Nm, with power sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The car weighs 1, 770kg, and it’s valued at an eye-watering 550, 000! So what do you think - can a Golf R & M240i take down an SF90! There’s only one way to find out LET’S RACE! A Ferrari engine can be tuned more, but the question is how many times will such cars survive such races before the engines explode and which engine will explode first
Probably Ferrari's fault because it carries an electric engine that helps at the start but then only increases the weight, as does its battery. On the other hand, both tuned cars definitely do not have road homologation unless it is arranged informally. Because if it were possible, Ferrari would also give up the electric engine and install a larger one, e. g. a 5-liter engine with a powerful turbo. But it is officially forbidden because it poisons people in cities, causes cancer, etc. A long time ago, there should have been only electric cars in cities, they tolerate starting and stopping much better. Combustion-powered motoring is a track sport.

That 2er (or any of first two gen 1er) is what EVERY drag addicted should choose as high power project car. It had everything needed.
But you have to be. not smartest to choose for a 1000bhp a SHITYY FWD platform as golf or vw a3. both running FWD 99% of time, both running a GARBAGE 200Nm rear haldex. as rear is THE MAIN axle for sending down the power. This race prooved perfectly that, no matter how agitated/focused look in race that steroid-golf driver.

Bruh no way a modded BMW just smoked a Ferrari SF90 Like imagine spending supercar money just to get gapped by something that costs 1/4 the price. This is why the tuner scene will always be superior to these overpriced hypercars that can't even launch properly. Y'all Ferrari fanboys can keep flexing at car meets while the real racers put in work at the strip. Who else thinks exotic brands are just selling clout at this point Stay mad but you know I'm right
reply

It is a joy to see not one but two tuners who actually know what they are doing!
Not just numbers fetishism paired with spitting exhaust sounds, but actually making a car hook on launch and keep pulling! Great work!

Was good to see the car owners driving their own cars so they knew exactly how to treat them. Otherwise you get Oh for some reason Jimbo racers car has gone into limp mode Thanks, completely enjoyable.

2: 51, I love how floored the rear of that Golf is compared to other cars god damn. You'd think something longer would be tilted much more, but it stands out by a mile.
reply

That BMW is a madness. Great work 'done on it! 9. 1s 1/4 mile is insane. 'Never thought I would see an SF90 getting gapped like this, with these sort of cars. .
reply

Usually these cars with insane tunes have issues, but the golf and M240i were amazing! I'm surprised they didn't spontaneously combust at the end of the race!

Seeing Matt lose makes these types of videos interesting and worth watching again, Matt always winning was very predictable and not worth watching anymore
reply

BRO!
The only cars I can think could keep up with the beamer are Bugatti, GT-R(HEAVILY TUNED) and 911 Turbo S (HEAVILY TUNED.
MENTAL

reply

When will Matt ever race his own Porsche like the way he gladly tears up other owner's cars. He never raced his previous GT3 either.
reply

Out of all the drag racers I have seen on carwow this is without doubt the most impressive. Congrats to the owners of those monster builds.
reply

I never see a golf r fast just like this in that BMW was so much scared when she was coming on the Ferrari, she was so much scary
reply

The fact there was no cut to what’s the retail on one of those you couldn’t afford it pal Ferrari. Smoke him is very disappointing
reply

Tom Riddle has really came a long way. From creating Horcruxes to building this machine that runs 9. 1sec in a quarter mile.
reply

Top end acceleration on the SF90 is solely on the engine. The battery shuts off at around 130 mph. That's what we are seeing here.
reply

The m240i has power and weight close to the Ferrari, yet it easily outperforms it. I think it has more than 1000 hp, maybe 1300hp
reply

Why does the guy in the R look like the harder he squeezes the steering wheel and makes a serious face then faster his car goes
