Parts Cannon Fail: Customer Calls It Quits! jack002tuber: That Pico is really handy. I would of used a big washer. I was thinking washer before you saw it fall apart. Those are expensive and money is tight. But I mean for me and not for a job to fix someone else's. Good job, you know your tools and how to use them. Persistence pays off. So many times I'd be like OMG whatever, I can't do this

They provide a torque chart for things like that but general rule is inch pounds on aluminum. My guess is the owner or whomever didn't have the sensor in all the way and when he tightened the bolt, the whole thing cocked off allowing the retainer to crack, then the sensor snugged down but by then, the damage was done. The hazards of working on today's vehicles is the possibility of snapping off plastic fittings. Age and heat make things brittle over time too. Good video and good find. I learned a long time ago, make sure before tightening down any hold down fastners, the unit is exactly where it needs to be. This was a prime example of what happends when you don't.

Phenomenal as usual. Wish I could find a known good waveform for a VR pickup on the back axle of a 1997 Ford F250. I am pretty sure it is too small at 350mV P-P but it is new one from NAPA. So I think it has a encoder disk problem like distance. Speedo works but will not shift properly. Shifts ok with it unplugged. These Fords had quite a few variations according to data. Oh, they can be fun.

The first replacement sensor was probably good, but not seated fully in the engine. That back hole probably needed a good cleaning based on how hard the bank 2 sensor went in. The OG sensor probably broken when the owner put it back in an tightened the bolt without the sensor fully seated. The question is did the first replacement sensor break the same way.

I'm guessing that hideous exhaust leak is yet another normality of life in the rust belt. If a vehicle from the rust belt pulls into a shop out here, they'll commonly decline service & recommend sending it to the crusher. Roughly 99. 9% of the vehicles in our U-Pull-It/Pick-n-Pull yards have far less rust issues than the vehicles you have to deal with.

A long time ago I had a sensor go bad on a hydraulic block on a cnc machine. had to buy an adjustable one, figure out the wiring and finally after 2 days of tinkering, I got it to run again. TLDR sensors can be a real pain sometimes. You've done much better than I did, would have loved to had your diagnostic expertise to help at that time.

92 ranger had a code O2 sensor.
Got the new part, but made the mistake of cleaning the idle air control and the MAF sensor at the same time. the light went out. Fuel mileage went down to six MPG. Reinstall old sensor and reinstall black tape over light. 15 miles per gallon. Runs great. No light!

Joe Biden is the shining example of the swamp. He is a snake oil salesman, He learned well from Obama. He is looking out for himself and his family, He needs to be impeached if half of what is coming out is provable, He should face charges. No mercy just like he came after Trump.

I went to Auto Zone to pickup a new
reverse light bulb for my 06 Dodge
Charger over the Thanksgiving break
and when I laid the bulbs on the
counter to be rung up I blurted out
yep the old classic 1156 bulbs, and
I heard your voice in my my head Eric!

If you're going to try 10 crap sensors you have to assume it may not be good and try more than one. You could just buy a 72 Denso sensor and know for sure. Cross-swapping a known good sensor and watching for the fault to move makes more sense than a 10 knock-off.

Ivan would be proud of you & what operating system are you using on the old laptop as changing to another o/s may speed it up & increase the longevity of it (Linux Mint ves-rsion 21. 0) if you are interested it's free & doesn't require viruis/spyware protection)

You can null out the noise by plotting signal minus the green ground. That will subtract out the noise on the ground, which should be like 90% of the noise. Or use a coaxial cable, grounded near the sensor. Od electronic technician lore.

The customer stated and you verified that there was another sensor in the vehicle. why did you decide to go new from NAPA instead of trying the other one first? just curious. great feasoning power and results as always

The analysis of the scope is too hard to understand for most fellows who are not familiar with it. This vid is too complex for most of us. If you can follow along, good for you and do not shame the others who cannot.

Man I swear those Siennas are part Sherman tanks. Ours was a 2008 and and we drove it 167k miles and I'm sure it wasn't even broken in. Biggest thing I had to do was replace a steering rack. Thanks as always, Eric!
