Listen, Aston sell cars, people buy them because they like them and they aren't buying them because of his quick they get round the Nurburgring or from stand still to 60. To the plebs that constant wine on about how the 911 turbo is the same price. who cares! If I really cared about performance I'd buy a Nissan GTR Nismo (pocket the 30k over a 911 turbo) and still thrash the pants of the Porsche all day long!
Aston's are bespoke hand made exclusive products. they look beautiful, they sound amazing, and they are fun to drive. I know, I own one, and I've driven the V12 S and its immense fun. I know it's slower than a Porsche but I don't care, and the Aston is faster top speed but honestly who cares because I'm never gonna get to 205mph on our roads!

Maybe its just me. But I do think, that Aston Martin need to come out with some completely new models soon. All the current Astons are based on models, which were introduced about 10 years ago. And in the meantime both Porsche and Ferrari has completely renewed their entire model lineup 1-2 times. Also the strongpoints of Aston Martin are not outright speed. Its the design, the -made in England- hand build quality and the whole James Bond image. So I am not sure, this is the -best Aston-.

Maybe its just me. But I do think, that Aston Martin need to come out with some completely new models soon. All the current Astons are based on models, which were introduced about 10 years ago. And in the meantime both Porsche and Ferrari has completely renewed their entire model lineup 1-2 times. Also the strongpoints of Aston Martin are not outright speed. And even this is a British auto magasine and therefore naturally biased and patriotic, then lets be just a bit honest here. The new Porsche 911 Turbo S, which cost about the same as this car, will simply run circles around the Aston in any speed-related competition. And it was a much better gearbox, and it uses about 30% less fuel. So technologically the Aston is just completely outclassed in any measurable way.

Colour isn't. Well, I'd choose something more elegant, but remember, that this was filmed in USA and they have no taste there, so this colour might be for them: D Sorry, americans, I'm joking, don't get offended: D But still, very beautifull car and I even can't think of any its rivals apart from 911 and they are very different, so I guess, it is almost class of its own.

For me a Aston Martin should be a fast GT-car, and it should be as stylish as possible. And on these criteria the title -best Aston Martin- must go to the new Vanquish. And factoring in price as well, the Asten Martin, which makes most sence by far, is probably the new DB9, which already has 500+ hp from the same V12 engine, which is found in this car.

Have any of you doubters actually driven this car? Well I have. And at Silverstone to boot! And it's every bit as good as he says. Yes the gearbox is a little clunky but you get used to it. And whatever you may say about the Porsche turbo and other cars that may be quicker or more modern by the numbers, they are simply NOT Aston's!

I think everything Aston makes is considered a GT car because as sporty as they might get something, it's still never going to be rough enough and light enough to really be anything OTHER than a GT car.

I hope this is the last installment of the current Vantage. Aston, please renew the Vantage with the more modern styling of the Vanquish. Then shove your biggest engine in it. Vantage 2016 maybe?

One thing this car is better at than a 911 turbo is weight destibution. Slightly front heavy but very close to 50: 50 which you can never have with the engine placed behind the rear axle.

No, just wanted to point out what it was called. Motor Trend tested this cars also and they too didn't like the color. You are right, not a good color for Aston Martin.
