The 17s faster round the ring is due in large part to the use of sticky Cup2R tires for the fast lap and not standard Cup2 - the car will be delivered with Cup2.
Its basically similar to the outgoing 991. 2 RS - similar spring rates, similar track - thats what you can feel on the front end, so you get improved turn in and much better front end grip. The double wish bone basically delivers a slightly better contact patch more of the time.

Another journalist just reading off the press release rather than saying the biggest difference to the cornering is not actually the suspension or aero but the Cup2R tyres which are much grippier than the Cup2 on the outgoing 991. 2 GT3.
Incidentally, Michelin says this tyre is 0. 5 seconds faster per km. All of a sudden that 17 seconds faster around the VERY long Nurburgring looks less impresive.

I get the sense that initially favourable launch reviews will give way to admissions that it's not much fun on the road and therefore fundamentally flawed as a road car. For the same money you could get a manual Carrera S and an Atom 4.

Is performance the only thing that matters in a GT3? I'm not sure myself, but curious to see what others think. Surely the GT3RS has to be all about nothing but performance and numbers? Maybe not so much the GT3?

why do you say that it is wider then the previouse one? its not. both are 1852mm the last gt3 with the narrow body (1808mm) was the 997. since then the 991 gt3 and all 992 were 1852mm (992 turbo is 1990mm)
