Ummm, I seriously test drove one of these today with vast excitement and it was the worst diesel I have EVER driven re turbo lag (FROM STANDSTILL). and that includes trucks. We did 5 launches from zero and agreed that turbo lag was about 1. 5 seconds. what a heap of $hit. We took it back within 10 minutes and then tried a few launches with my humble ford territory single turbo diesel. and agreed that my Ford had about 1/3 of the porsches disgraceful turbo lag. Sorry porsche - complete fail. anyone thinking of buying one DO NOT just floor it on the move (it goes great then. do a few standstill takeoffs and you will laugh your guts up.

NO OTHER 4x4 is touching this thing. The turbo S is a pure animal & this 1 is just Perfect. X5's are boring/good. Merc's ML/GL boring/good & the G63 wagon is a monster & the fact it looks like a toy makes it more interesting. Lol the LAND/RANGE ROVERS, ABSOLUTE BOLLOCKS! I have friends that work at Land rover & they can vouch for the fact that cheap shitty material is used in JLR products. Considering how long LAND ROVER has been making 4x4's they still can't sort out the RR's suspension issues. Porsche WIN's hands down. Well built, great looking & goes like sting.

I think porsche can get more out of this engine. I mean the Q7's 4. 2 liter turbocharged V8 diesel is almost in that class. It got around 335 Bhp, 560 pound feet of torque and this engine is getting a bit old. Porsche could make it to 400 bhp and around 640 pound feet if they wanted to.

In the interests of exclusivity I think Porsche should limit the Cayenne to only 2-derivatives - the Cayenne Diesel S above & the Turbo S. And then ditch the other Cayennes' which includes the GTS & others. Too much of Cayenne models really hurts the brand.

Why don't car manufacturers design a steering wheel where only the outside turns, but the centre, with all its buttons and airbag, remains fixed? That way. you know where each button is, even when you are turning.

I've got a new Porsche Macan S Diesel on order (deposit paid) - but now I read that Porsche will no longer produce ANY more diesels across the range. I am mad - I wanted a diesel, which would suit my needs

For some reason I still feel like id feel superior driving a Range Rover sport. I don't know why though. Hmmmm Porsche seems fishy.
