He didnt say he didnt like the M4. he just said he liked driving the i8 more. dont let your personal opinion cloud what his assessment of the two cars. if you want a car that looks similiar to most beemers and is a tick faster around a track. then the choice is obvious but if you want a way cooler car. with more than enough performance go for the i8 and trust me from personal experience youll love i8 more. thats if you can afford twice the price of an M4; )

The M4 is a fat, bloated, clumsy looking 6-series sized thing, though. Recent M cars have become too complex, too tech-dependent, too half-hearted and far too overweight. Even the M2 is an inexcusable weight for something so small. The i8, i3 and even the new 7 show BMW getting properly to grips with carbon fibre, and I've heard the guys in Munich making promising noises about their upcoming sports cars not being such fat, lazy tourers. Can't wait.

The i8 cannot be compared to a M4 without front wheels being driven by the electrics. you are comparing a 1. 5L 3 Cyl against a M-Car. The handling, acceleration, top speed of the i8 will all be compromised. That battle is no way fair. However, wondering how its possible to run out of Juice as when the combustion motor is engaged? the battery system is supposed to be charged from it as well as propelling the car.

Was the i8 in sport mode? There was an i8 at track day a few days ago I was in an Aventador and the guy was doing GREAT. He also never ran out of power on sport mode. Just need more meat on the tires stock 225 are too thin, and eventually the break fade after a few laps but it eat Teslas alive on short circuits with lot of hard turns. I was very surprised with his performance.

ok buddy, you just said you ran the i8 out of power so your driving rear wheel only. Do you realize just how unfair this comparison is? The i8 relies on the electric motor to accelerate fast. And with out the electric motor you are literally racing a rear wheel drive 3 cylinder car on the track. So unfair

lol. 3x the price, 80% of the power (50% in a lap or three with no batteries, maintenance out of the roof, and only 20%? 30%? better mileage.
Clearly, there is someone that will buy an i8. Those people have too much money and too little sense.

You kept saying the i8 is -really great to drive-, but never gave an example of why. I along with many other viewers have never driven either car, so some specifics would add up to a great review/comparison. Otherwise, kickass video!

So then if you have 0 power in the front electric motor you were not using the i8's full power you were missing a nice amount of HP by using rear wheel sport only. You all should have charged her up a bit before doing this video: //

Which is most fun? How about the one that doesn't have an insane waiting list to get and. It's double the price of the other. With that I love the i8 that thing is just so freaking good looking and amazing
