We Americans also like balance, and no doubt Germans love their power considering people ravage the autobahn in Audi RS models, AMG spec Mercs and any other bahn burner, many of which fall apart quickly when the road gets more dynamic. Power is a luxury in such cars, though. Learning to control your right foot and drive more fluidly achieves balance. Anyone yearning for ultimate balance need only look as far as a cayman or boxster.

Whilst I respect the reviewer and a lot of the comments on the E-Diff in this car. Everyone is wrong on how it operates. It no longer uses the ESP or any brake modulations like the previous car or the current car without the performance pack upgrade. It's a proper mechanical unit that only locks when slip is detected. A hydraulic pump is activated and the diff clutch packs lock at various degrees depending on the amount of slip.

focus is shit comparing to golf, maybe with its 300HP its better 0-100 (0-60) for like 0, 3 seconds, but golf is better looking, high quality and more reliable car, not everybody is going to race with these cars, gti has 220HP, and performance version has 230Hp and since golf SIX R had 271HP the new one will probably have around 300 horse power, gti is not the best version of golf.

It all comes down to what you want the GTI to be. If you want a comfortable and premium fast family hatch then get the DSG and don't tick the performance pack option, if you want a proper, spine-tingling, blood boiling hot hatch then get the manual with the performance pack. But, brilliant as the GTI undoubtedly is, I'm a Ford fan, so Focus ST all day, every day.

they're skimping out on power to upsell you into a shitty overpriced golf R or TTRS/S4.
germans believe more than anyone else power = fun. Just look at the v10 M5s. and various AMG models.

In addition, Only Performance Pack has LSD in GTI, and pls notice price.

Only cars I will own. Have had numerous VW's from a '79 Scirocco (miss this car so much) to the current MkV GTi.
