The corvette's 6. 2L was created in late 2006 and only has 2 valves per cylinder, not to mention it is an OHV (overhead valve) engine. Pushrod engines but don't make to much power, and having 2 valves makes significantly less power and slightly less torque. The C7 corvette makes 460 HP and 450 LB-FT of TQ. The NEW Porsche engine that develops 600 HP has twin turbos, 4 valves, DOHC engines and more(not to mention the c7 makes 28 mpg! thats alot from a 6. 2 liter)

Oh, anyone that says the Corvette is better at everything in stock trim is totally biased and wrong.
The GTR is a great car, and so is a Corvette.
I'm a fan of cars. and I tell the truth about them. People take that as attack on one car or the other all the time. I don't understand that.
It is possible to be honest, it is possible to be unbiased. and it is possible to be both. It's rare, no doubt, but we few exist.

Wrong cars to race. I don't think an XKR buyer would consider a GTR as an alternative. The GTR was built as an out an out sprinter & aimed more at the boy racers & weekend track days. The jag buyer looks for comfort, refinement & then speed. Jag can add twin turbos, 4 wheels drive & launch control to their cars if all they were concerned about was 0to60 times & not much else.

if we're comparing the Z06/Zr1 with the 2012/13 GTR. i'll say
Acceleration and handling = GTR
Top speed and sound = Corvette
i'm a fan of the GTR and i have to admin that the Corvette is fast, but not the best in everything

GTR: Fastest but also least fun and cheap in materials. Jaguar: Best looking but the most expensive and heavy. Corvette: Most fun and cheapest out of the three but has cheap materials. I would take the 911.
