The new Mercedes-Benz CLS is here. Now in its third generation, the 2018 CLS continues where its forebears left off: a large coupe-like four door that competes with the Audi A7 and BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe

I-m a bit disappointed to be honest it-s ugly the back end I-m not sure what there thinking it looks like a hatch back but not, I was hoping they changed the interior those big round air vent stretching across the interior there just an updated air vents from the 70-s they were ugly then and ugly now. This is a direct competitor to BMW-s M3 / M4. I hope they did not fall on there face with this one. For looks BMW has it beat they have the same inline 6 producing the same power and torque and run about the same price. This will come down to if your a fan of Mercedes or BMW.

Why can-t the numbers actually come near the actual displacement? I have a CLS55 which is a 5. 4 liter. The original CLS 63 is a 6. 2 Do car makers feel that the obviously lower displacement naming will make the cars fall short and hinder sales? If size matters then keep the larger engines, if not keep it honest. This name game with car models is ridiculous and to me slowly is eroding and cheapens the marks. Now every Mercedes is an AMG. Also why no true AMG model for the CLS and only this 429 hp range topper?

At standstill it sound good and low revs, but high revs it doesn't sound sport at all. Overall (while driving) it doesn't sound good either. The current CLA 45 AMG sounds much better, AND it's quicker too: 4, 2 sec 0-100 km/h instead of CLS 53 AMG 4, 5 sec 0-100 km/h.

The original CLS was one of my favourite cars because it was so stylish and daring. I appreciate you can't always achieve that but this generation looks incredibly boring. Apart from the AMG coupe I think all Mercedes are pretty dreary to look at

I remember the good old days, when AMG would just put a nine-million litre supercharged V8 inside the first saloon car they happened to set eyes on that morning. Of course things always have to move on, but I'll always have those memories

Something is wrong with this power train. Torque figure is too low for the technology fitted to the engine by about 10%. Could it be that AMG has lowered the torque so it does not complete with their own GT?

Autocar has really screwed-up the video editing - as many previous comments have also mentioned. Amateurs. You have undermined your company brand. You need to fired the video editor.

Everyone has to realize that the government is getting more and more strict about emissions and car manufacturers have to obey them, don-t blame the manufacturer blame the government

Looks good, but coming from a line of -full house AMG- models, not sure I'd be completely satisfied with this one. Love the looks though.
