Land Rover's Range Rover line has been incredibly successful, but with that success has come a problem: fuel economy. To improve the brand's MPGs and to add a little green-cred to the original Chelsea Tractor, Land Rover is launching a bevy of new engine designs from mild hybrids to full hybrids and this all-new plug-in hybrid capable of motoring your Ranger rover for over 30 miles on electrons (as long as you treat is gently) and getting a few MPGs better than the V6 model after that. Is that enough? I'll let you decide

I hate (HATE HATE) non-bespoke EVs and PHEVs. They're probably almost always compliance vehicles. I know all-new platforms are huge investments, but c'mon. as early as 2009 timeframe (10 years ago, it was clear that both regulation and consumer demand would trend toward EVs. An EV SUV is probably the easiest to engineer given you're already building a huge, heavy vehicle. Even lowly FCA was smart enough to engineer their new Pacifca minivan platform to be both ICE and PHEV without compromise. Kia (and Hyundai) did the same with the Niro model platform. Pass.

Agreed it makes no sense unless you want to be able to drive it the HOV lane. Rivain R1S seems to make more sense. and hope to see a comparison test when they start to sell them.

I would love to lease one of these one day. Owning would probably bankrupt me without a CarMax unlimited mileage bumper to bumper warranty

LRJ has such a solid reputation for building reliable electronics. Why wouldnt anyone want to buy their hybrids/EVs?
