Please note that more countries may be added to the travel ban so please check with your airline or foreign ministry or the US State Department. One of the most common questions we have received the last few days has to deal with stop overs or layovers at airports in Europe. Here we go through the CDC's position on layovers and the travel ban. Our video on the European Travel Ban

What would you say about the following flight plan, which I've already booked a long time ago:
Berlin --> Frankfurt --> Seattle (USA) --> Canada
Will the layover in Seattle be banned, and therefore the flight plan interrupted? I'm trying to get back to Canada, and I can't get any insight on this from the airliners since their resources are completely overwhelmed, and my Canadian passport runs out in the Schengen region on March 31st (my flight is booked for March 29th.

The other thing that needs to be mentioned is the airlines. I am currently in the UK (for school) and originally planning on flying back to the States in a week and a half. Trouble is, my ticket with Delta is through Amsterdam.
Not only is a layover in the Netherlands included in the ban, Delta recently announced a significant number of grounded planes- stated they will be stopping all flights except to London. And, I'm not counting on that staying the same either.

I remember seeing massive queues here at Schiphol in videos. My guess is this would reduce the number of ppl there because of the CDC update.
From an airline point of view, would be difficult to see how LCC's such as Ryanair, Easyjet, Level, Transavia, etc. cope up. Norwegian is in real trouble as well. :(
Best wishes, Mark, Jocelyn and the kids. Stay safe: )

Thank you for being a friendly, kind, and professional voice to the travel chaos. I have not travelled, but I know that many must be stressed and I am sure your videos, and the last one too, is a welcome and calming voice to hear.

So say i came from Toronto then had a lay over in the states but my main destination would be Dominican would i have to be quarantine in the states because of the layover or would i have to have quarantine in Dominican? Or both

I think an announcement will be coming soon that all internal flights in USA will also be suspended thats certainly a strong rumour. Absolutely sucks but essential to curtail the spread of the virus. Stay safe folks.

Can you get a refund from already booked holidays for accommodations & flights if a travel BAN appears on your destination?
I booked a holiday in November for a holiday next month before this all started.

You guys really have the life. When other kids are just reading about other countries, your kids have an eyewitness account of those countries. Those memories will be treasured forever.
