GRAB THE MERACH R50 TODAY: (15% OFF WITH CODE: ALAIN) Most men over 40 are doing too much of the wrong kind of cardio, and it’s making it harder to lose fat. That’s because your body doesn’t just respond to how long you move it responds to the intensity and the type of stress you put it under. When the goal is to burn fat without sacrificing muscle, the way you do cardio matters just as much as how often you do it. And while some forms leave you drained, hungry, and sore, others actually help you recover faster and accelerate fat loss. That’s why we’re breaking down the one cardio style that’s getting men over 40 absolutely ripped without wrecking their joints or their muscle gains. And make sure you watch till the end, because I’m going to break down the scientifically perfect cardio routine so you can finally see your abs, no matter your age. Rowing is not easy on the lower back. In reality, it's probably the hardest. Over time, as you develop the right form and the muscular endurance, rowing isn't so harsh on the ol' lumbar spine. When you first start; however, it can be downright torturous for the low back.
Stick with walking, then jogging, then running, and then sprinting. This will help build up your lower back muscles and tendons. I'm not saying never row, but if it gives you low back pain, there are other ways to burn calories. Ease into rowing, a couple minutes at a time here and there before going balls to the wall.
I've had two major lower back surgeries after getting hurt in Iraq and then a big ass fall working construction. An hour after surgery, they have you up and walking with a walker, and then you're prescribed walking for a few months to build those muscles back up. I run quite frequently nowadays and hit the cardio rower every once in a while. That damned rower still hurts my back after five or ten minutes.

Im a cyclist.
I cycle standard 50k a day what makes it 1, 5 to 2 hours cardio a day
Last year i followed a protein based dieet
Going from 96kg to 70 kg in less then 3 months
I never feeled a dip or a burnout. I felt superb all time long
Since a few months ago i had an injury on my knee
Since then cycling has been much less then before
I still do my 50k a day. But in the weekends i dont go out anymore for my 100 to 300k rides
Since then i gained to 90kg again. Still minding the protein dieet. It seems i cannot lose anymore weight now
Stuck on the 90kg for weeks now
Anyone has some good advise for me
I was thinking about dooing some powertraining again but the cost for the times i can really go is too much
Getting some weights for at home is also an option but then i feel less motivated
Btw
im 40yo
90kg
178cm tall
I cannot run anymore due the knee injury

Little caution about rowing, my brother and I are both over 50 and started rowing just once or twice a week, after just two months both of us got our shoulders hurt, mine has turned into a frozen shoulder. I believe it's because we didn't exercise much otherwise, we should probably have worked on the back and strengthen the rotator cuff muscles!

Fat loss is way down the list of benefits of cardio. Cardio has so many important benefits. Helps the mind, mood, lowers anxiety and depression, good for the heart, lungs, entire vascular system, arteries, hormone profile, and so many other things. Cardio is good for you. But nutrition is the most important thing for body composition.

Carb/Calorie cycling to limit adaptation Cardio cycling to limit adaptation I find that if I eat the exact same calories in a week I lose more weight if I have several high calorie days and several low calorie days. I think the high calorie days keep your metabolism from slowing down. YMMV - 59 year old man 6ft2inch 220 lbs.

One thing everyone continuously fail to mention is that you can lose weight and still not lose fat. If you're in a calorie deficit but your diet is still crap - just a smaller amount of crap - you'll just end up being skinny-fat. To truly lose fat you not only have to eat less but eat the right foods.

Doing an hour of elliptical at zone 2 has always worked for me when I want to lean out some. I stay at a page that doesn't fatigue me the rest of the day. Or I'll walk outside when it's nice out.
Instead of watching TV, I just watch my show at the gyn

Now when anyone says scientifically-proven or science-based, we've been so burned by that in the fitness community, I just turn a deaf ear to comments like that and just focus on the information works for me personally.

Cardio can burn a lot of calories. I do a 6KPH incline walk (25 incline) and it burns 1000 calories in 52 minutes. I also do a 10kM jog that burns 700 calories.

Laugh all you want, but despite what all the studies and experts say, I love running. I always have and always will. Btw, I'm 46.

You shouldnt use cardio to burn fat. caloric deficit takes care of that. Use cardio for your heart.
You tube imbeciles are all bought.
