i am 44 and do my every day home workout after waking up. 100 push ups, 50 situps with legs hovering over ground, around 30 pull ups, some chin ups and 100 squats. all just bodyweight. Around 20-30mins.
i dont gain any more muscles, just look lean and feel fit.
in the beginning it was annoying to stick to my plan cause i wasnt always in the mood. But now its just a routine i would not skip, like taking a shower or brushing my teeth. just do it!
dont compare yourself to someone else, dont measure your arms every week or look for gains. Just do it to feel fit!

I'm 71. I've been lifting regularly for about 3 years. I'm just reaching the point where I have enough muscle mass that maintaining it burns more body fat. I also find that lifting weights helps suppress my appetite. I don't push myself like 20 or 30 year olds can, because I don't want any injuries to stop my progress, but I am very pleased with my progress. Yeah, I like my results, but I like the way I feel after lifting even more. I'm in the best shape of my life, at a body weight I haven't had since high school.

58 yr old been workin out for 33 years. Metabolism and arthritis is my biggest enemies especially after 7 surgeries (both shoulders, L elbow, 3 knee and umbilical hyernia)But i try to do a minimum of 3 days a week at the gym and am pretty strong for my age but the muscle mass days are over it was hard to accept but it is what it is. The gym keeps me happy and i think its helped me stay young(er) I like this site and others to try to learn different exercises to counteract the arthritis.

I am 69 and started doing weightlifting 10 years ago. I do 3 to 4 days of workouts covering push, pull and lower body regimes plus 2 brisk walks either outdoor or on treadmill. I am able to achieve Zone 4 and occasionally Zone 5 during the walks. I can tell that my muscles are in good shape with well shaped chest and upper back. It is true that it is never too late to start.

I'm 43 and still building muscle at my 40th pound in March of this year. Still getting stronger still doing all the heavy compounds. Tore my meniscus on Saint Patrick's Day I just did squats with 225 with no pain yesterday. Everything in this video checks out. This dude is legit if you're looking for a real Coach if I were going to hire somebody it would be this guy.

At 54 I have adopted all these principles and I'm doing great. In short as you get older do the opposite of what Dr's. recommend. Don't eat less meat, Eat More. Don't take it easy or go light, hit it hard and heavy! Take sets to failure or beyond, do volume.

You don't need to spread proteins in 4-5 meals, studies show that you don't have a max amount of protein that you can absorb in a single meal.
You can eat only 3 meals and get the right amount of protein spread onto those 3 meals.
