I listened to this thrice: before my workout this morning and twice more driving to work. Jeff and Mike state their case so perfectly, Then I got to work and read the Catholic mass readings for the day. Saint Paul said almost the same thing:
-Run so as to win.
Every athlete exercises discipline in every way. They do it to win a perishable crown, but we an imperishable one.
Thus I do not run aimlessly; I do not fight as if I were shadowboxing.
No, I drive my body and train it, for fear that, after having preached to others, I myself should be disqualified. -
I have had some very serious health issues over the years. I report to an oncologist quarterly. My most recent visit two weeks ago was typical. After a quick exchange of pleasantries, the first question, -Are you exercising? - -Yes. - -How often? - -Daily. Hard. - His response: -Good. - No smile. The vigorous exercise routine, together with careful nutrition and sleep/relaxation, improves the mind and spirit even more than the body. My spiritual exercises and my physical exercises have sustained me through difficult times. I do it for these reasons, not for the abs. May Michael rest in peace, and may his young family and many friends find solace.

How could 27 individuals after having watched this video, been so heartless by giving a thumbs downs to this video, and the inspirational example he left for people everywhere? Just cannot understand people like that. My Grandfather use to have a saying years ago, and I have never forgot it. He said, if you don't have anything nice to say about someone, then keep to yourself and don't say anything at all!
Bill's wife and children will need all of our support. In prayer, positive thoughts, and well wishes for this precious family experiencing such a great loss at this time. I would encourage everyone here to reach out to them with Love, kindness, and if you are able to do so - financially as well! Whatever you do, please do it in love, and let it come from your heart!

Great video and inspiring to hear Mikes story - We all have our mountains, our cross to bare, our struggles in life, our worries if we're good enough. But you know what, I found that when we train we grow stronger in mind as well as body. Mike was an athlete in my opinion because he kept going when it got really tough and I think that's the nature of a real champion. Perhaps this is the secret in life? Having my own mountains to climb I found that by over coming them one step at a time, you learn the true value of life I would love to hear other people's views on this, perhaps a video on the mind of an athlete could be a good episode for the future? All the best guys David.

Much strength to the family. My father died on MSA-C (not cancer) shortly before last christmas, but I know the feeling, when you start to understand death will arrive, no matter what you do. In our case I hoped that he would somehow live a year longer. ActualIy I understood how far the illness was some months after he died - the last month, I just saw the human behind the illness and not so much the illness itself in a way. Sorry for my bad english, but r. i. p. A great inspiration but at the same time it shows, how illnesses determine the path. So he got some more months with his family, that is beautiful. And hopefully they could say goodbye.

Quite the inspiring video. Mike overcame a lot with dignity and hard work. Jeff I have a chronic health problem and I would like to know if AthleanX can help. I am 65 years old and have had type II diabetes for 24 years partially due to agent orange exposure in 1971. I work out 6 days a week following a lot of your videos. My problem is that due to my medications and strict intake of carbs (90 per day)I am having trouble making gains and maintaining my blood sugar levels. At 65 I want to spend my retirement years looking good, feeling good, and doing good. Can AthleanX help. thank you.

This didn't necessarily inspire me. I'm proud though. It mainly just made me look onto myself as capable of doing better. I have all my joints messed up and I break bones easily and feel intense pain when weightlifting, but that's not the thing. I just had a cheat meal. If Mike could do it, I got no excuse. That's what it did. It annoyed me that I could have done better. When I completely fail, it doesn't ever bother me, but when I come so close to perfection (like I am right now since I almost have these lower abs too, that tears me apart completely. Good job Mike.

Come on y'all, show some respect. This dude showed the kinda guts that separates the -men- from the boys. I'm 53 and new to Athlean X, I've been inspired to get into shape by the sensible & informative videos and obvious results by Jeff himself. After watching this about Mike Bauman. There ain't gonna be anymore delays. Its time to -man up-! I'm ready to grab the bull by the horns and try to follow their examples the best I can. So far, I'm still healthy; i got no excuses. Thanks, so much, Jeff for posting this video!

I just finished that ab workout from that old 'bodyweight only ab workout' video and I'm feeling frustrated. During the exercises I'm feeling hardly any burn in my abs. Afterwards they don't even hurt. Using the x- tincted policy doesn't get me that burn either because muscles that I'm not even supposed to be working are burning. The only thing I have to show for my efforts is a sore tailbone

Truly inspirational video. Mike truly lived and trained like the warrior that he is. I guess only when we realise that each moment can be our last, as we are not imortals. only then can we truly see and apreciate life and what matters most. Not thinking so much about the future (because we don't know what's instore for us, but living in the present and enjoying what we already have
