I have mixed feelings. On one hand z1 is great and a more powerful z2 would mean more gaming performance. On the other hand I'm worried that this might affect the longevity of these handlelds. Some of these OEMs are already not the greatest with feature updates and driver updates .Adding more products would probably mean they would take people off of the older handhelds meaning it would be even harder to get driver updates and bug fixes. Also while I think we will see zen 5 and npu from strix I'm pretty sure that the GPU cores will be RDNA4 I think that RDNA4 architecture is taped out and they are already playing with RDNA4 APUs

I'm keen on the Lenovo Legion Go 2... I really think that it will be the handheld to have in 2025. It's got a few issues with their first release (of course it would, it's their first attempt at a handheld) that I think they'll really make good on for the next version. I also hope they keep the screen size and optimize ergonomics/cooling & have variable refresh rate as a must. Look at ASUS on their second attempt with the ROG Ally - It's excellent! So I'm hoping for good things to come from Lenovo.

Let's ask the real questions.. What does this mean for the smell And will it satisfy Adam and the bloodhound inside him He has spent years smelling all kind of handhelds and developed his nose to the point that he can identify every hardware component by a single sniff, some even say he can identify the current driver revisions. lol

The biggest issue when OEMs uses AMD’s Z processors is the driver updates, which usually comes too late, and if you want to use AMD’s eGPU with it, it doesn’t works because the driver is old. I’m actually not fan of Z processors, hopefully the OEMs will uses native processors to get native and quick updates for them.

I really hope they manage to get into more companies' hands instead of just Asus, every asus laptop ive owned had some insane frustrating issues. Typing this on a zephyrus g15 ga502iv that isnt stable unless you disable CPU boost. Lol

Hoping to see a minipc with a z2 extreme for a decent price. If a handeld is 599, a minipc without screen, controllers, battery should be sold for a good price

I wish nvidia had a APU license. DLSS would be a killer for a handheld. I bet the switch 2 is going to kill it in image quality and reconstruction.

it means nothing except higher prices just like with zen5 cpus which are overpriced crap and you get basically same thing as with much cheaper zen4

Were you able to ask the Microsoft exec if they'll ever make a handheld version of windows lol. It's holding handheld gaming back.

I hope more companies make pc handhelds like the legion go and Nintendo switch. Handhelds with detachable controllers are great.
