Gordon shows us the ThinkPad X1 Extreme from Lenovo and compares it to the Dell XPS 15 and Apple's 15-inch Core i9 MacBook Pro. Inside is an Intel Core i7-8850H and GeForce GTX 1050 Ti Max-Q and it holds up in benchmarks!

Very helpful video, although I was surprised the ThinkPad P1 was not mentioned in your comparison. This is actually a good thing' since it may help me with my current pending purchase. I would appreciate any feedback on the following.
I've been looking to switch from the latest MacBook Pro to an equivalent/superior Lenovo laptop, and my budget is about $5k. I want a version that does most everything, e. g, Office365, Adobe CC, Acrobat Pro, on-screen signing of documents, photos organization, business document organization, on-line Conference collaboration, cellular, fluid video, fast performance, durable, with at least 15- the best screen display available (I'm not a gamer. Unfortunately, the Lenovo product options are so expansive that I struggle to determine which series and model is more closely matched. Even within the Extreme Series, I can't tell which one is the most current with the most robust feature set. Heck, based on their website I'm not even sure if the ThinkPad P1 is superior to the Extreme X1with respect to performance and build quality. I've been using Apple products since 1983, and I almost always buy the most top-level and fully configured model available. I wish I could figure out how Lenovo ranks their laptops, because; as a consumer, their product line appears to be completely random.

That's decent but my 5491 and 7480 has more expansion options. But, it's even better if you order the XPS with Ubuntu Linux: ) The macbook pro is nothing but an expensive disappointment. None of these are cheap. Not by far. So, users should expect something better in my humble opinion. I am just glad thinkpad keeps things real with that outstanding keyboard and over all Finnish.

Hey Gordon could you help me out? Right now im trying to decide between these 2. I know this video is a year old but if you could choose between the 2 which one would be the best for premiere pro? I want something that will be dependable and fast that wont constantly throttle. Which one of these and which specs would you go with? Cost doesn't matter.

Is there anything I can do to make mine run cooler? I've got a p73 with the i9-9880H with 128 GB RAM and 6 TB storage, and my Linux Mint dmesg says it's throttling because of heat. It's new, and I've got a 4-fan support powered by USB, and ambient is typically 24 C.

I have owned four PCs: ThinkPad 755C, A20p, T43, and T530. Because I am a touch-typist, If a laptop does not have the OG TrackPoint, it is worthless to me. I consider the touchpads on my Lenovo ThinkPads, the T43 and T530, a poor use of real estate.

Thank god I didn't go to Lenovo. anything I need extra I can get for my Dell. Lenovo has too many -special- parts and plugs and I don't feel comfortable with that, I pass. besides it reminds me of IBM's old stuff etc, no thanks.

Looking for a laptop for drawing graphics and animated videos. Can't afford better configs of Surface or Mac as yet. Which other good options are available to explore?

The Apple might be a little slower but mine is 4 years old and is still as quick as the first day. I can't imagine any windows computer can do that.

hard to go back to a Mac or Dell once you type on a Thinkpad, thankfully The X1 Extreme has a great display also even only FHD 500 nits

That comment near the end of video about silver laptop users needing to exit a boardroom made me laugh. Thank you, that was good!
