How to Freeze Panes in Excel - Kevin Stratvert Learn how to freeze and unfreeze columns and rows in Microsoft Excel. Freeze a portion of the sheet to keep it visible while you scroll through the rest of the sheet. This is useful for checking out data in other parts of your worksheet without losing your headers or labels. Watch how to freeze just the top row or the first column. Also, learn how to freeze any row and column. Watch more Excel tutorial videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLlKpQrBME6xLYoubjOqowzcCCd0ivQVLY

im running excell 365 V 16.5 ... I need to hide certain cells (so they maintain a value) all I can see on youtube are earlier versions of excel (old) lay outs which don't relate to my version and navigation and the format is different, I have been high lighting the cells on the speed sheet , in review i click protect, and put a pass word in but its failing in protecting both cells in different rows... Im pulling my hair out !

Man, im coming from numbers on Mac, and Numbers is so user friendly it makes Excel feel very difficult to use. Now I know there are more functions and capabilities on excel which is why im crossing over. I like the challenge, and im thinking I need a Windows system as well as a Mac. So cool.
Thank you for the video. I didnt understand how the hell this was supposed to work.

Hey Kevin I wanted to know if you could let me know if there was a way to hide something in excel using the function but if the other person tries to unhide it it won't really show up is there a way that way. Cause my friend knew it but i couldn't find a solution to it ?

No help at all. I want to freeze the first column and row 5. I can split it so it shows everything above that point in the top, like it's doubled it. I can't move my split line like you can. I feel like excel is constantly changing so within months this is outdated

Thanks, Kevin -
I had watched a number video on how to freeze both the row and the column together and yours was the first one to provide something understandable and workable. Sadly, I still have Exell 2003 but plan to upgrade soon.

Hi Kevin, could you please do a video on how to have someone talking in the corner of the video while at the same time in the background the computer screen is visible. I really enjoy your videos and I find them very helpful!

This is so frustrating, I go to freeze panes and I only have -unfreeze- -top row- and -first column- but I want to freeze row 5
