Thanks for the shout-out, Mynda. Truth be told, it's not really my idea, but the application of clever techniques you've taught to realize greater functionality from Excel. I doubt that I would have conceived of the idea of using labels on invisible data points as proxies for axis labels. That's all you! Another great tutorial: a quality production that is perfectly paced, expertly explained, & illustrated well. Thanks!

I realize I don't know enough about charting, because I would choose the wrong chart. For example I would pick the line chart, which I think is used to show trends over time. Both line and scatter seemed to have the option to link values to cells, to get label specific dates, or am I wrong? Either way, thank you for the video. I love the resources you provide and I am learning a lot from you.

Thanks this was super helpful. I didn't know that you could change the numbers in the vertical axis to match the dates..... can't tell you how much time I have spent puttering around with this :) Well, now I know.

Hi Mynda.. great technique there. Seeing you implement it makes me think of many other possibilities using the same logic. Thanks for sharing this great tip (and thanks Jim Fitch also). Thumbs up!!

This worked perfectly for me...except when I tried to change the minimum value on my vertical axis, the date labels disappeared. Any ideas why??

So there needs to be a lower bound observation? Do you know how to just make it to where the last date on horizontal time series is what I want?
