We took a short break earlier this week after an onslaught of reviews lately! Now we're back, starting with Hardware News to talk about the latest accusations in the Wall Street Journal about NVIDIA's AI practices, GeForce Now with ads, AMD dropping the price of the 7700 XT (and other GPUs joining), Sony laying off 900 people, Nintendo suing the Yuzu team, and more. Oh, and our Legion Go review is done now -- good timing for the MSI Claw news!

One of the big issues that were announced on the plaintiff is that they were also inside their Discord server, and apparently, some of the game roms were distributed there. Also, it certainly doesn't help Yuzu that you had to pay the Patreon to have the better version of the emulator, which a competent lawyer could attribute to obtaining a benefit from it.
Some people in the community certainly are thinking that maybe Yuzu could be the nail in the coffin that had been able to be avoided for so long, because of practises, like those said above, that can easily be nefarious. When your emulator can play a game before the game is out, you're definitely not making your own case.
It's likely that, also in part, this is a way to discourage a possible emulator for the next system. Or at least, one that is just as swiftly updated as the console itself it's alright (some might differ, but let's say we do believe it) to think about emulation for preserving, but when the system you're preserving is still alive, that system is being preserved already.
PS.: I'd not be surprised if Valve's Yuzu in Steam Deck trailer could've been what, on the very least, made them start the procedure to the plaintiff, if not directly put the Ninjas onto the emulator. Though I'd also say they're not the first, because there are a definitely big amount of people who have publicly touted the emulator (and, in a way, spread the word about it).

04:45 : this constant bias against nVIDIA is becoming unbearable for me :
Do you really mention Intel as a way for the market to deviate from nVIDIA dictating the market !!!!!!!
Do you even know/remember how Intel was behaving during their CPU dominance(2000-10) in order for their AIBs NOT to make orders from rival companies(AMD)
They were paying AIBs(like Dell for example) hundreds of millions in rebate programs if those AIBs were buying only(or mostly) Intel CPUs
(AdoredTV video : Intel ,anti-competitive ,Anti-consumer ,Anti-technology)
You never mentioned something huge like that (according to my knowledge) , which is the most-anticompetitive behavior ever existed ,and instead you are telling us why a ..!!!!!! case-manufacturer company awaits for the launch of new line of GPUs in order for them to sell more units of course it will have an indirect effect !! and after all that Intel has done in the past I’m hearing you to accuse nVIDIA that ,indirectly ,their products affect . case-orders
or that nVIDIA might delay production on some customers When supply is limited ,EVERY company will prioritize their key-partners & their long-term strategic partner over a casual one if the supply is limited ,wouldn’t you
You are right Intel is coming to save us all Steve !!!
Ohh ,almost forgot Thanks Steve !!!

The ever dropping prices are mainly thanks to the massive numbers of 2nd hand RX 6000 series GPUs, which are still perfectly capable GPUs. 6900XT for $400 is so much better value than a $550 4070 Super. Performs better in native rendering, while costing 35% less. The other thing is that the so called $1000 4080 didn't happen. I was waiting for that GPU and was willing to give nVidia another chance, but 1200... No thanks. Would take 950 7900XTX for native 1440p gaming every single time. Don't care how good they make it - i am NOT using DLSS on a 1000 GPU for 1440p gaming. It just MUST raw power the native rendering, otherwise it's not worth the high-end tier badge.

That a case manufacturer complains about that they are influenced buy the launch schedule of Nvidia GPUs ... What to say: The customer decides in the end when to buy a new case. And when you supply components for a bigger system that the customer wants, you depend on the availability of the main components of this system. It is like a manufacturer for wheels complaining that they depend on when Ford launches a new car model.
Of course they would like it to be the other way around. An industry depending on them to launch a new case. But that would be superficial, wouldn't it Even more that it its today with Nvidia.

Nintendo doesn't have the right to sue them. Emulators were ruled legal and the internet should help the Yuzu team win and smash Nintendo back to the ground where they belong. Yuzu DOES NOT give you access to any secured or encrypted files. The user themselves has to dump them from their hacked system. Yuzu is not responsible for what players do with their own console. This lawsuit should be illegal to file.
I'm quite tired of companies filing spurious lawsuits that innocents then have to hire expensive counsel to get rid of. This practice should be illegal.

Sony dude: We need to be ready for the future and meet expectations of gamers.
Cunt, you don't get ready for the future by kicking out your talent. You need workers to get ready for the future. And you need workers who know what they're doing for the future. And my expectation as a gamer is that the developer I buy from still has developers to make the games and the company still has people in support and everywhere else to help me, if I have a problem. Do you think the people you're writing to don't know how working at a company works

Emulation is a complicated area of law is it
Companies shit => Pirate.
Companies give good, accessible games at decent value => No pirate.
Nintendo keeps the prices on its games really high. I shat myself when over a decade later I found whichever Super Mario game is all about the coins and it was still basically fully new priced.
Zero flexibility unless you buy used, and even then you only get less scalped.
Well, anyway.
Pirating shit is absolutely fine for most companies.
(But don't be crap with indies, kids.)

11:20 I bought a used (refurbed and tested) 7800 XT Hellhound that couldn't have been more than a couple months old for the price of a new 7700 XT because my 1060 just couldn't handle all the democracy in Helldivers anymore. Got lucky and it's a brilliant experience. I was a bit anxious about buying used in the past but the current climate pushed me to it. Maybe I'm over-enthusiastic about it now but I think for future upgrades, I'll have a look at the used or refurb market first by default before considering buying new.

That Core Ultra 7 155H uses 28W for the 1.4ghz base spec. Up to 115W for the maximum boost spec.
That's... hefty for a handheld. I'm going to assume its going to burn through that battery.
Not too thrilled with all the handhelds. If developers think they're popular, they'll design games for them. Just like they did with consoles.
Its how we got things like non-rebindable buttons, UI's that only feature 4 power-ups because of buttom limitations, not being able to jump characters, etc.

In the US at least, there's actually a lot of legal precedent that establishes emulators themselves as legal, and possibly even valid competition against first-party consoles. This obviously doesn't extend to illegal downloading, and it's not even straightforward whether or not it's legal to dump legally obtained games for personal use, but still, emulators have generally held up in court. Instead, it's fangames, hacks, and mods that Nintendo is typically more successful at taking down.

The Toshiba recall brings me back. I had a string of Toshiba laptops from the 90's until 2013. The power adapters were always a problem. I remember two of them over-heated and melted.
My current HP Spectre had a similar issue where the charger over-heated and started melting while next to my bed. Whatever caused it torpedoed the battery as well and I spent the next month replacing the adapter, then the battery and finally the physical jack in the laptop.

Not really related to any of these stories, but I'd be really curious to see you guys test Windows vs Linux gaming now that Steam Proton has come such a long way. In my very limited experience, DX12 games take a slight hit to performance from playing on Linux but Vulkan games are basically neck and neck. I know it's sort of a detour from the internal methods and processes you guys are continually working on, but it seems like a really cool one-off test to do.

Tell me in a realistic and sane way, why do people feel entitled to steal current Nintendo games on their current system Like, would you all demand to be able to pirate the PS5 You make up lies about wanting access to classic games(yet at most the oldest games emulated are a few gamecube games that have current Switch remasters anyway), but have more access to older Nintendo games than Sony allows to older PS games. Why do you want to be able to steal their games
reply

Uff if Nintendo wins this this will create a legal precedent where every single Emulator in the market will disappear. This is NOT Nintendo vs Yuzu is Nintendo vs the whole emulation market OR ELSE. Nintendo will finish every single emulator for the same petty reasons, SNES, N64, NESm, GameBoy, and once Nintendo destroys them Sony will follow suit wagainst PS3, PS2 and PS1/Vita/PSP emulators. Is not only Yuzu that losses, we ALL lose.

I bet Gamers Nexus knows nothing of how Nvidia moves in the background!!!!!! ahahahahahaha.............
There are so many obvious examples in history where Nvidia was punishing customers and partners for not being loyal enough, that is hilarious looking at Steve having no examples other than a case manufacturer. An example that is indirectly an advertisement of Nvidia and a nice way to drive the audience away from the main point.JMO

Well it's nice to know the steam deck has helped with you improving your testing and I still hate it, that wont change. I refuse to support products that only perpetual mouth breathers care about and I'm fed up of companies like valve wasting money on vanity projects, this is a niche product and the numbers reflect that. This does nothing for the future of gaming and should be called out for being a waste of time.

I’m really glad that Intel keeps making good driver updates, but I am so sad that the Intel ARC cards just do not want to work with PCVR (not Streaming with Virtual Desktop - that works just fine)
No proper PCVR support is the only thing I do not like about the ARC lineup. But on the other hand, I’m glad that they are focusing on Flatscreen games first, because VR is very much a small % of PC games

There is a reason why I no longer buy Nvidia cards, but stick strictly to AMD. Fortunately, I don't care about 5-10fps more or less when gaming. Yes, AMD isn't perfect by any stretch of the imagination either and who knows, if their roles were reversed, AMD would probably pull the same crap and I'd buy Nvidia instead. But currently AMD is way ahead from a moral / ethical point of view.

Yuzu does NOT ship with any keys to decrypt anything. Nintendo can F right off. You have to get those from somewhere else which I got from my own Switch. What sucks is the makers of Yuzu will fold because they can't afford to fight Nintendo when Nintendo obviously has one leg to stand on and would get that swept out from under them with even the smallest of arguments.

15:57 Nintendo is destroying human lifes by creating addictive game mechanics on purpose to gain fiat currency from people, regardless the damage of human life. Nintendo is spying on people to create more of those addicitve game mechanics. Nintendo is destroying intelect by creating more and more artificial paywalls. Patents are destroying equality.
