Bought my GTX 980 Ti back in early 2016 for 640. That was the best GPU money could buy for gaming at the time. With inflation, that is about 820 today. Sad to think that it now costs 2.5x that much to get the current best GPU for gaming. Glad the prices have come down somewhat, but after 4 years I am still rocking my RX 5700 XT despite needing to upgrade for well over a year now. The prices are just ridiculous for the performance you are getting, the amount of power being pulled, and the ridiculous amount of heat generated. I can only hope that Intel keeps working on ARC and becomes competitive. Having only 2 options really sucks for us consumers.

Same old Nvidia. Overpriced, lower VRAM. Than AMD.
I remember their con with the GTX 970 with its 4gb RAM. It had 3.5 useable RAM and ultra slow 500 meg RAM than broke performance once the GPU hit it.
12 Gig GPU s in 2024 for 800.00??? Is Nvidia joking? No, but it sure sounds like one. Looking at you RTX 4070 Ti Super...
I wish there was true competition in this market and not just a two horse race...(yes, I know about Intel GPU's).

It seems that this is just a realignment of the mid-tier cards to AMD's lineup. The 4070 SUPER is a relatively minor bump in performance to compete a bit better with the 7800 XT, even though it is still priced a bit higher. If the 4070 Ti SUPER does perform right in between the 4070 Ti and the 4080, as expected, that will put it right there with the 7900 XT, but still priced a bit higher. Maybe AMD will respond by lowering prices a bit?

My biggest concern is that MSRP pricing becomes non-existent at launch, especially at that 4080 Super level. I can see it being a more in-demand product than the standard 4080 was, and then woosh, the price goes up at retailers, and the MSRP becomes a dream again, just as the 30 series launch was. Guess we'll see, but at this point I've mostly given up hope altogether whenever we're talking about proposed MSRP pricing.

Everyone complaining in the common section about the prices are the same ppl that will end up buying these over priced graphics cards like y all don t need a new gpu every time they launch them I been using my 1080 since 2016 just upgraded to a 3080 got it for 289 bucks will be good for another 5-6 years if we all stop buying into the hype of a new gpu they will lower prices seeing that there gpu sales dropped by 50%

4070 Ti Super
Now they're just takin' the piss. 'Ti Super' has been a meme for years. I've used it myself when poking fun at the ridiculous number of SKUs. When I bought an nVidia (how it was actually stylized) GPU in 2001 (we still were calling them 'video cards' back then), you had 3 choices. GF3, GF3 Ti200, GF3 Ti500.
Take a drink whenever Steve says 'Super' and you'll be drunk by the end of the video.

It was kind of shocking to hear that the 4080 was 1200 dollars. The GTX 1080 launched at half that price; what the hell did us consumers let nvidia get away with.....oh yeah, the 2000 series was totally worth it being crazy expensive because of ray tracing....yeah, that's it.
Man I hope intel and AMD don't run with the ridiculous pricing that we have let the market(mostly Ngreedia) get away with.

I quit gaming long ago. Ngreedia is ripping you off badly. The 4060 for example costs more than an entire console. They are making way too much markup on all this China made stuff. Too greedy. But i know most of you grown men that still play games don't care and you will continue to throw your money away. That's why prices never drop because of you suckers who keep Ngreedia in business.

I'm happy with my EVGA 2070 super XC gaming ultra. It runs games smoothly on 1440p and it's a blast. EVGA was the best thing that happened to Nvidia, but they're gone now. Nvidia is getting greedy and shady without them. I might switch to AMD or Intel if this keeps up. My ryzen 7 2700 non-x is still rocking at 4.03 Ghz. I don't need to upgrade anytime soon.

I've never bought a super card before - do they generally have the same coolers on them as the original cards?
From what i've seen the coolers on the 40 series were overkill which i actually like because i'm in a hot environment, i'm a bit worried they might slightly downgrade them to get that better pricepoint.
Interested in 4070 Ti super & 4080 super

I'm curious what GDDR6 memory modules they'll choose to use in these super cards. The 4070 TI and 4090 used similarly binned memory which was capable of extremely high overclocks. It'll be interesting to see if they use the same binning for all of these cards, as that could give the 4070 super an even bigger lead over the 4070 when overclocked.

I replaced my EVGA 1080Ti FTW3 with a PowerColor Hellhound 7900XTX, so I do not envision needing a new GPU until performance is doubled at the same or cheaper price ( 900.00). If, and we'll see your benchmarks, the 4080 Super trashes the 7900XTX in rasterization, hopefully AMD will drop the price of the 7900XTX a bunch.

3080 launched at 699 and was viewed as a good deal. In today's money that's 855. I view the 4080 super as worth it for the features and performance uplift for 150 more. But at the same time, they're going to slowly price themselves out of the gaming market and into the Deeplearning and AI market, which makes me sad

Can't wait for those 4070 super to be sold at 800eur, 4070ti at 1200 eur and 4080 super at 1800-2000 eur, msrp means nothing. The high end 40 series was so bad it wasn't adopted in EU except for 4090 for super rich or content creators. As such high stock and vendor greed will drive the price up again.

super refresh actually looks kind of decent... which is sad. I'm honestly more interested in what AMD's response will be. Will the 7800 xt drop to 400 in response to the 4070 super? Will the 7900 xt drop to 600? Will the 7900 xtx drop to 800? Or will they just give up entirely on this gen?

If they drop price of 4080 by 400 NZD that would make it more appealing. 4080 cost around 1400 USD, still looking at around 2000 NZD for a 4080 super, what a deal.
7900 XTX seems to have dropped off since Black Friday, no retailers seen to have stock or just the few over priced models.

I wonder how many rubes will fall for Nvidias attempt to normalize their insane pricing? Still overpriced no matter how you slice it. Nvidia simply put lipstick on a pig where the 4080 is concerned. Screw this gen, waiting for the 5k series, surely we'll be disappointed yet again.

the parallels between this and the 2000 series are staggering. not surprised at all that nvidia is shoveling out supers at this point. garbage products at garbage prices with the only saving grace being the 4090s crazy performance (just like the 2080ti was).

so what's happening is that they are trying to confuse consumers because this is what they should have been called
4090 = titan
4080 super = 4080
4070 ti super = 4070 ti
4070 super = 4070
4070 = 4060 ti
4060 super = 4060
4060 = 4050
