HUGE Computer Server Factory Watch How It's Made: Cases & Servers GN Factory Tours S3E1

This is our SEASON DEBUT for the Factory Tour Series showing the inner workings of PC component manufacturing. Computer cases and servers are manufactured, assembled, and painted in these two InWin factories in Taiwan. Parts of these factories will show how computer cases are made, with a big focus on a brand new server-building facility. The factories shown in this video assemble ASUS and ASRock components into servers, among others for big names, and also handle the painting and machining processes for InWin computer cases (and their OEM'd clients).

The drama about Steve being 8-10 feet in the air on the forks of a forklift standing still... For me that's small potatoes. I spent several years on a picker up to 30 feet in the air and worse balanced on a single fork to move boxes from a rack to another forklift at the same height more than once... we were too lazy to move the forks so I could have had 2 to stand on lol. One thing I never understood is why the pickers had a windshield when they moved at max 5 mph and someone jogging could pass. Meh the drama is funny and I enjoyed it.

I think the new factory was amazing .the traditonal factory looks better than any factory i have worked in.I have found.people get board doing the same job .and leave .so training for covering time off gives others on shift a change .this may have costs to you during training .also you can get positive presure full head masks .like a hasmat suite .just plug in a airline .NO MORE FILTERS .might need a compressor upgrade

This old-school vs new-school manufacturing is echoed across other industries such as bicycles and motorcycles. The old Moto Guzzi and Ducati factories were like that archaic Inwin one you showed. Steve it would be incredible if you ever get the chance to explore the Shimano and SRAM factories in Taiwan, as well as the pattern bicycle frame builders there (as the resident MTB nerd).

I'm actually a welder for arvos, which is a factory that makes hear exchangers for coal power, and now we're movong to wind power that somehow floats in the atlantic. We have tons of old mills, and benders, cutters. It's actually pretty cool for a nerd like me. I actually used a GN solder mat to fix a blown up Allen Bradley controller for one of the machines at work!

I went to Taiwan last November 2023, what an incredible and beautiful country
I actually saw that InWin factory from the Expressway lol
I had an absolute blast, the people are so nice there except in Taipei underground lol But it's like that even in Paris to be honest lol
Happy holidays to all the GN crew and all their family

GOOD LORD. As a forklift operator myself I know that you MUST NEVER EVER lift a human who is standing on the forks. No kidding, the factory manager intervened! There are a ton of pinch points around there that could easily lop off fingers. I wouldn't doubt that that stunt cost someone his job.

i had no idea InWin was a major player in the professional field. i thought they were just a small-ish scale maker of more design-focussed boutique cases for enthusiasts that somehow stayed afloat despite rarely releasing actual new products rather than showing off concept pieces at trade shows

Darts: Not as many case reviews this year as I would have liked to see; the omission of reviews of the Montech King 95 and 95 Pro seems significant , to be blunt.
Laurels: This video was great! The contrast in factories was awesome of course.
Merry Xmas and thank you!

Little suggestion for the factory managers if they see this, for when they re testing the servers with their fans blowing they should really consider ears protection for their employees, in canada that wouldn t be legal to work there in those conditions without that

More of this please. My mechanic co worker and friend Sam is from Taiwan. He worked worked in a huge factory converting big airplanes to carry other big airplane pieces. If you guys toured factories like that too I think people here would be interested in that.

There is a HUGE difference between assembling parts and MANUFACTURING parts.
I worked at Lucerne Products. Their customers are Mr. Cofee, IBM, Milwaukee Tools, etc. They make switches. They manufacture EVERYTHING, including their own semiconductors.

As a professional computer nerd who's been around the block more than a few times, these kinds of videos are really the best opportunity to learn something I otherwise wouldn't be able to learn about these crazy science fiction gadgets we all use.

I dunno dude. I worked at a sheet metal factory in southern Ontario about 14 years ago. Conditions were about the same. I worked in a. Factor where we made gears for auto transmissions. Conditions were MUCH worse than these in Taiwan

The pacing, cinematography and scripting/editing made this video feel like a GN PPV with a steel chair.
I hope this takes off and becomes like _the_ staple GN thing.
Also, I loved that flat No to the roof radiator question.

This series is so dope man. Taiwan is fascinating from a semiconductor POV. You've really outdone yourself Steve! You deserve all the success that comes your way. The quality and depth of your reviews are next to none!

We can't name while the Asus logo was right there while saying that. BTW some two decades ago when I was doing systems integration, we used Inwin almost exclusely. Precision, and design that was just right was important.

The production quality of videos this year has been insane. Great job to everyone on the team, content like this and the other journalistic work is why I'm proud to support you guys and the merch is great as a bonus!

Thank you InWin for allowing for us to see all of this! Amazing and sooo interesting! Thank you to Steve and everyone at gamersnexus too - you guys rock for putting these videos out. Happy Holidays to you all.

I bought a couple of dell blade servers I was going to use for all the things you use servers for in your basement. But when I turned them on and it sounded like a 747 was taking off, they collect dust

That older factory would be heaven for me. I love the industrial truth of all the pretty pretty tech we have. You can modernize all you want but sometimes, the old ways still work. Love it.
