Forcing a specific standard for chargers is very short sighted given how fast things change. A few years ago it was Micro-USB on most things not Apple and by god am I glad they didn't legislate that pile of utter shite, because it's got to be most the worst mainstream connectors ever, only slightly better the the 3. 0 version of it that's somehow worse and hardly micro. Complaining about Apple is also kind of silly in this regard too given they've only had 2 charger types on the iPhone in its entire existence (30 pin and Lightning, and Lighting was a solution to the issue USB-C was made to solve, years before USB-C existed) while Android have gone through at least 4. Mini USB, Micro USB, Micro USB 3. 0 and now USB-C (not to mention any proprietary ones on the earlier years. Apple will also give you an adapter to use USB-C etc for free if you can prove you own an iPhone if you live within the EU and have done for years.

I'm concerned about EU's desire for a single charger type. I understand the sentiment, but if it gets to a point where a government board is designing it rather than the private sector, it's a bad thing for everyone. Government can't design shit for shit nor something efficient. Imagine the hell of trying to deliver on vague statements and appease everyone in the group or spend more time developing something more convoluted. Plus, a single standard will be a bottleneck for when new technologies needs different infrastructure or else have support be built based on hacks to an over engineered aging standard. I'm on the fence stopping proprietary chargers (regardless how annoying they are, it's not the government's place, but anything more than that is going too far.

Well, Steve, you're sounding kinda prejudiced about PCs having SSDs for years now. It's true they have (as well as current gen consoles may let you use it, but there's simply no games released yet which are tailored to use their data streaming capabilities and not look back at HDDs. The only project relying on this hardware I met so far is beta of notorious Star Citizen, which has a mandatory requirement of SSD - using traditional hard drive causes hard stuttering and multiplies load times, making it totally unplayable. Not speaking of AMD's Instinct which accesses data directly from SSD source - I'll be surprised if they don't use this experience to increase performance potential of new console cycle.

As much as the Cyberpunk 2077 delay is probably about bug fixing and optimisation, I'd say a lot of it is also about the next gen consoles coming later this as well. I'd say this is a bit of a double dipping from CDPR, they can focus down on fixing any resounding issues but also focus on the game as a launch title for the next-gen consoles. Dying Light 2 has also been cancelled until an unspecified time schedule and I'm sure it's for much the same reason. It was supposed to come out in the same time frame as CP2077 as well. So I'd say most of the big games due to drop early/mid this year will probably be getting pushed to later on this year.

Only 30 years to stop the world from figuratively imploding. Meanwhile, by 2020, things are moving at such an accelerated rate that the future of Earth is going to be significantly worse than forecasted. Just wanna throw it out there that Monsanto still exists and as far as I know, isn't changing anything. They're probably the #1 polluter of the land itself and responsible for cross contamination of crops worldwide (with PATENTED seed, which they sue the smaller farmers for. This is significantly damaging to organic farming, something that doesn't destroy the land (or living organisms; pre or post harvest) in the process.

I had a person, who worked in a firm, and guys from that firm are big friends with CDPR, and he said that they originally planned to release their game on 2019 holidays season, maybe early January. Someone told him who knew this. But it was before the E3 stuff and the April 2020 date reveal. So, if that's 100% correct, Cyberpunk actually got delayed by almost a year. But, that might be a good sign in the end, means that they really want to realease a finished product with minimal problems on release date. So don't worry too much guys! (probably) Hope they don't delay it further though heh.

17: 56 im pretty sure they would ABSOLUTELY LOVE to just do that, qi all the way, but they know a very large chunk of their user base lifestyle is incompatible with qi charging, they cant just sit there waiting for their phone to charge on a table, so if forced they might do usb c+ or something, which would be nice, I think the only way to improve usbc at this point is to make it magnetic, I have a few cables like that and you can just leave the tip on the phone and its wonderful, if the tip just becomes integrated to the device thats the holy grail of ports right there

Its not like the whole of Australia has burnt, only a small percentage has burnt, the whole thing has been politicized way out of proportion, yes alot of animals have perished but in reality it is a yearly thing, the Aussie bush has always burned, it needs to burn to remain healthy, its only recently that people think they know better and have stopped and or reduced the burn off of fuel loads, now as expected increased fuel loads made the fires that much more intense.

theres plans for new direct cable from middle of Norway to east coast US for data transfere, since power is more green and plentifull in Norway this have been in the cards for a while. So if they move data storage in Norway to get cheaper and greener power. That cable will cost billions so you can tell that there is aloot of money investment in powersaving. Then flag it as green and they can save themself from moving job out of the US. xD

Great choice of fund / cause to get behind - Animals harmed by fire need our help. I know everyone was on the tree bandwagon, but to be real for a sec, CO2 is tree fertilizer & It's abundantly documented that the world is greening thanks to C02- just Google NASA Greening Earth. MSFT can keep it's virtue signaling carbon capture tech to itself, imo. Lets try to pump this thing up to 2000, 3000 ppm and double our crop yield. Cheers
