With my dog at my side, a golden retriever named Cali, I install half round logs to the exterior wall of the side porch on my off grid log cabin. For dinner, I grill bear steak on a campfire with a side of day lily flower buds and pak choi harvested from my garden, cooked with bear cracklings in a cast iron pan on the fire

Another awesome video shawn. Always love watching you build something while cali is near by. Ever since i started watching your videos my husband and i bought some land in country so we could build a log cabin too. Thanks for opening up our minds to living in country. Can't wait to start building on it. Im no carpenter but I'm a Journeymen. electrician and a nurse. I did electrical in my 20's and went bk to school for nursing. I did my time of hardwork. Have a good wknd shawn

Another very good video Shawn! Man you are living the life. When you step back to see what you have accomplished Im sure a book will be in the works! Sure been great watching you build your homestead by yourself Thank you for letting me enjoy your accomplishments in the bush! Cali is excellent company. Enjoy a few sleeps in porch with screen mesh! You all are gonna laugh. I am wearing headphones. Every time I hear a mosquito or insect buzz, I want to swat it away from my ear. Love your work. I would sit on that porch all evening with a good book and cup of tea.

Nice Bok Choy! Are you finding any wild mushrooms yet? Chicken of the woods & oysters are happening here in central VT (before the heat wave that is) Love the distant sound of the geese and the loons.

My goodness you have it so rough. waking up of a morning to the wild noise of the woods instead of the wild traffic. wish we had it that rough. deer at the end was priceless.

Coming along nice. Any chance we could get a good aerial of your current camp layout along with future build ideas/locations? Love seeing your land develop.

You're having bear for dinner. Do you ever have bear come around your place. Do you carry protection of any kind when you are out and about?
