My two day solo canoe trip to Little Trout Lake in Algonquin Park. I visited Magnetawan Lake, Hambone Lake, Ralph Bice Lake and Queer Lake. Joseph: Good day, I truly enjoy watching your videos, they are very relaxing and well edited. I was wondering if it's not to much trouble, to help me with a couple of questions that I have regarding Algonquin solo camping. I will be heading up in the third week of May and in the video, you stated the date was 5/24. I noticed you were wearing a bug netting. Were the black flies biting or just being a nuisance. I had read that they usually don't bite for a few days when they arrive, but after 3 - 5 days all hell breaks loose. Also, would you happen to know if you can portage from Vireo lake to Wilkins lake via the outgoing flow located in the southeast part of Vireo to Wilkins lake, located in the northwest part of Wilkins. I'm trying to take a shortcut and avoid portaging from Vireo, to Creepy lake, to Roundbush, to Alsever, to Aylen river, to Wilkins. After watching your video, May seems to be on the quiet side. I'm hoping to get some alone time, some solitude, to decompress and fish in a quiet, non stressful, peaceful lake (the twelve hour ride would be worth it. Which is a rare commodity here in Rhode Island. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Joseph Gaspar

Beautiful canoe. I'm sure the new one you have is much easier on the back, but gotta love the cedar wood canoes. Thanks for sharing your trips. I keep saying that cause I really enjoy getting to see part of the world I may never get to go to. I know this is an old video, but if you get a chance to answer, do the fish having a slower bite during pollen season there?

Hi Shawn, Spectacular as always! Love Canadian nature.
Question, what does the Millionaire Self reliance mean at the end of your video?
Keep it up, we love your shows. On the weekend, I now have my 91 year old mother loving your shows!
She lives in Lakefield near Peterborough and l live in Kemptville, near Ottawa. Take care,
Liz

Wow, that was a seriously bittersweet thing to watch. I spent the first 50+ years of my life as a cottager in the Haliburton Highlands. Mostly a loner in my family I was out at first light to explore and fish. Haven't been back in nearly 20 years and your view on the back country there is simply wonderful for my memory of the area. Big thanks.

The most precious thing you had was: SILENCE. I wish you have let us have that too, not destroyed it by music. It is the silence, the peace, what we need to share with you. Our brain wants to image it is just there. Right there. But how can we imagine that, when we have to listen to music?

My favourite area of the park. Bice lake to Tim river. Met Ralph Bice many years ago and had some nice chats with him. He even signed my book that he wrote Along the Trail. You lucked out on a still Bice Lake. Usually windy by the afternoon

Always wonder why people invite bears into their tent by cooking right beside their tent, and by doing so put the next user of the sire at risk as well. Pretty rookie mistake.

Beautiful and peaceful, I am from Maine we have preservation and conservation lands and the Allagash wilderness waterway for similar type destinations. Where is Algonquin?
