Join Kevin and jacquesinthegarden they venture out to Nashville, Tennessee to help carrieunderwood build out the interior of her epic greenhouse. Since 2018, she s been gardening, keeping chickens, an orchard, baking, and preserving her harvest, so it was awesome to come out and help build out her greenhouse. Tannenbaumgirl: Good for Carrie. glad to see she appreciates the value of gardening, clean and fresh food for her family. Seeing the orchard was a surprise, the children will enjoy harvesting, maybe even creating their own apple juice, baking apple pie and soforth. My children and grandchildren enjoy our orchard every year. we call it the Great Family Get-Together, Pumpkins and all. If you have the space you may as well make use of it! This year I am adding another 10 heirloom apple trees that I've grafted onto rootstock (last year. something I've enjoyed doing for the last few winters. Minnesota winters are sooo long. so by the time the snow is gone, I begin the grafting indoors and pot them, for planting out the following year. It's a nice activity to break things up during the long winters here. I order the Rootstock and Zions in, which are delivered at just the right time, weatherwise. All the best as always. Another great job!

Great video! We are considering a greenhouse too. I get that she has all the money in the world for a garden, so I'm wondering how smart some of those options are for the rest of us. Are those tall garden beds worth the money (cost of high quality soil for a bed that size isn't a reality for most of us out here. So my question is what is the need for 3-4' beds like that? Is it an aesthetic or are they vital for growing root veggies, or? Thanks

It's never too late to plant garlic, at least for greens. Just pop some complete bulbs halfway in the ground, water, and let grow. Then when you have about 6-8 of greens, cut the greens tops off leaving about 2 on the bottom and let it re grow. You'll have replenishing Garlic greens for 4 months or more.

Not much is more impressive than watching a celebrity get down and dirty in such an enviable garden. Great inspiration. Hopefully her son will grow some carrots of his own. Spending quality time with kids in the garden can make life long memories and forge a useful and practical hobby.

We in NW Nevada are still covered in ice / snow and expecting one last blast (hopefully) this week. We have a 150yr old garage with a tin roof that is slated to become a greenhouse with cold beds connected. Carrie s greenhouse project gave some good inspiration

for Carrieunderwood - spuds need lots of water so if you get that on track, you should have a good harvest and like Jacque said, wait to harvest and don't forget to dry them out afterwards to harden the skins. They will last longer that way.

Most potatoes are determinate, you really only need to hill once, you could stagger them and plant in layers, potatoes are so forgiving, no wonder potatoes and beer were an Irish staple, you could be drunk and still pull it off.

Wow! You two looked like you really enjoyed yourselves with Carrie. How lovely she was. Not just a bystander, but a hard worker too.
Hope she sends you pictures of everything she grows in her Birdie's Beds!

Just a polite suggestion if it can be passed to Ms Underwood. Purple hulls are as easy as black eyed peas, but better (in my opinion. Thanks yall
Carrie's berries? Another horror flick, Carrie.

I feel bad for my comment on last video. I was joking because I didn't think it was really her!

Nice to see a major celebrity actually getting their hands dirty. Rather jealous of her set up. I'm stuck with an apartment that only has north facing windows

I hope you both will visit her later this year to see the progress. Or maybe even have her film some clips or take pictures so we can see. Thanks for sharing!

Love Carrie! And, this was such a interesting video! I've wanted to try gardening for a few years myself, but I'm worried I'd just ruin everything.
