P Mark! Sawadee ka I am 1 hour west of Chicago! You are in my old neighborhood of Bridgeport! I went to school with one of the Ricobene's around 1989. It was Robert Healy School. Wish we could meet! Around there Connie's Pizza is famous but their lasagna is delicious, you could pour their olive oil on your plate and dip in their bread, it is amazing.
They pronounced it (Rico-Beh-Nee. I have never eaten there but you know what I will try now because you've been there but man, they need to change that oil.
You should take Mika or Mica and his cousin to Kuipers in Maple Park! It is 25 minutes away from me. It is 40 minutes away from Chicago. He would love it!

That fried steak sandwich is just gross. The absurdity of the portion size aside, steak is too rich as is to be breaded, deep fried, and coated in cheese and roll all at once. I don't care how many peppers ya have on there to try to cut through the overabundance of fat and carbs, it is the very definition of too much. These guys were so preoccupied with whether they could that they didn't stop to think if they should.
I kinda dig the chicken sandwich though.

Media as we know it. The best steak sandwich is the 7 oz hanger steak sandwich char broiled with sauteed onions & peppers, standard issue with fresh cut fries. Upgrade that bad boy with portabella mushrooms, choice of cheese, add a couple over easy eggs, or just kick it up a notch on garlic toasted French. Not the biggest, just the best

Those sandwiches look so good my eyes started to water The Famous Chi! One of the greatest foodie destinations in the nation for sure. I was introduced to ricobenes from a southsider. I frequent it a couple times a year (live in the burbs now. It s the best steak parm I ve ever had. My favorite thing from chicago is giardiniera. Goes on a beef sand, ricobenes, we put it on our meatball subs and Italians. Oh, and pizza.

Goodbseries from Chicago. I really like their deep dish Pizza. The nearest Pizzeria Uno is in another state.
