Join us on the ultimate Jerusalem food tour Follow David on Instagram: Also, thanks to Rafram: There are few cities in the world that can compare to Jerusalem in terms of ancient history and religious significance. Its one of the most fascinating cities in the world, and its a city that Ive wanted to visit my entire life. Finally, along with my friend David and Rafram, we explored Jerusalem to discover the food treasures the city has to offer - and let me tell you, youll find some incredibly delicious food in Jerusalem We started off the Jerusalem food tour by first walking around East Jerusalem and starting with the best plate of hummus Ive ever had. We then toured around Old Jerusalem, and enjoyed some incredible Palestinian food kebabs cooked by an incredible man who cooked with serious love and passion. Another highlight in Jerusalem was the mutabak, a thin pastry stuffed with cheese and baked. After eating our way through Old Jerusalem, we then headed into West Jerusalem and went to lunch at an Israeli Jewish restaurant serving a mix of amazing dishes. The food was home-cooked in style, and absolutely sensation. A few more snacks and sightseeing throughout the afternoon, and that brought us all the way to dinner where David had made reservations to eat at one of the hottest restaurants in Jerusalem, Machneyuda Restaurant. It was quite an experience, and an amazing meal and lively atmosphere to wrap up this ultimate Jerusalem food tour. Heres all the food and places included in this Palestinian food and Israeli food tour of Jerusalem: Hummus Acramawi Price - 20 ILS (5. 57) per plate Almond juice - 3. 90 ILS (1. 09) Al-shuala Grill Restaurant Shawarma - 26 ILS (7. 26) Al Baghdadi Kabab Palestinian kebabs

Mark you are quite gracious in situations where others might not be. Mashed chick peas with lemon, garlic, olive oil (sometimes nuts/pine nuts) salt and parsley i. e. hummus, would be hard for me to still show enthusiasm for the third time in one day, whether good or not. Likewise the tomato, cucumber, onion salads served over and over again. To make a fawning big deal over a mediocre plum, or the various appropriated desserts like baklava (when you are not even particularly a sweets eater) and really are far more Turkish/Greek ( seemed like there were a lot of dishes that really represented middle eastern cookery, as opposed to Jewish foods) is the essence of diplomacy/politeness. 'Good on ya' as the Aussies say Pax. Thanks for what you bring to the table.

I was invited to speak at a Thailand embassy event in Tel Aviv, and then my wife and I stayed on for an extra week. We visited Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Ashdod, Bethlehem, and Hebron. I met incredibly generous people and ate some unbelievably delicious food. I hope you appreciate the food, but I encourage you to respectfully refrain from argument and conflict. This video is about food and the loving people who prepared it. Thank you so much for watching and for your kind respect

finally someone from outside the country who actually goes by facts and not rumors like the rest of the frickin world. I'm an Arab and many times now i've heard Jews naming lists of foods saying it's Israeli food when it's clearly Palestinian food.

Mark I noticed that when you are at all these places you have this first bite mouth full. I think you should trademark this. FIRST BITE. This is how it's done, Mark Wiens way, First Bite. Go travel. Do it insane. First Bite, INSANE

My grandma's name was Wiens, FWIW. I live in Japan, where I grew up, so besides enjoying the culinary experiences vicariously, I like the little Japanese phrases tossed in there. Umami. that guy's a Shokunin (master craftsman).

The squarish dough with cheese/peanut is like the Malaysian 'Roti Canai' but we put egg inside instead of cheese and ours not so crunchy, not sweet. We eat with curry, dal or just some honey or sugar.

He had not been to any Jewish shop in there. It makes me wonder really. How beautiful and hospitable these Arab people are and yet they have had their land taken away from them.
