Tang Jua Lee ) serves authentic Chinese Teochew food in Bangkok. Subscribe now for more videos: T-shirts available here: Thank you to Ronnie for this restaurant recommendation One of the biggest populations of Chinese Thais originate from Chaoshan ) region of Guangdong in China, which is often referred to as Teochew ) in Thailand. And so youll notice that lots of Thai dishes, and plenty of Thai street food dishes have origins in Teochew. But along with Chinese Thai street food, sitting down for a full authentic Thai Chinese Teochew ) meal, is one of the great authentic Chinese food experiences in Bangkok. Tang Jua Lee ) is a restaurant located in Bangkoks Chinatown thats legendary for their Chinese Teochew food. My friend Joel and I, along with Ying and Micah decided to eat here for dinner one evening. We ordered mainly their specialties: Fish and taro steamboat ) - Good old fashioned charcoal steamboat is what Tang Jua Lee ) made a name for themselves. It was plain and pure and packed with flavor. Chinese sashimi ) - The Chinese sashimi, which was some type of bighead carp, was really the dish that impressed me the most. The fish was soft and didnt have any kind of fishy taste to it. The crust of sesame seeds is what really made it outstanding. Oyster omelet ) - A fried oyster omelet is another classic Thai Chinese Teochew dish, and although it was excellent, I almost forgot about it because of how good the other dishes were. Cold goat ) - Finally, the last dish we couldnt resist ordering on their menu because it sounded so interesting was cold goat. The goat was prepared like ham style, and apart from the mayonnaise it was served with, it was delicious and unique. Tang Jua Lee ) Address: 2212 Thanon Khao Lam, Samphanthawong, Bangkok Open hours: 11 am - 2 pm and 5 pm - 10: 30 pm daily

To everyone that likes joel. I think he is a person with out hie own personality does everything what weins does. the worst part is he does it without respect of food. no one eats with head down and eyes close. thats like telling people I am eating because is a vlog. everyone has there own personality and expression. but he has to copy everything what wein does. think of yourself for a minute and what u do someone copies u all day long how would u feel. I think this joel probably likes markwant to take him away from ying. I see how he looks at mark sometimes. everyone just look at these vide and u know what I mean. I've been watching these video everyday for the past 6 months over and over again. because i love to watch food travel.

I am your regular follower of your food and travel video clips. After years watching your videos, I am sorry but become a bit tired of your repeatedly formulated expression after eating the first bite. May be you over acted or otherwise may be it is time to give you some honest constructed critic. My suggestion is, you should watch this Netflix TV series Samurai Gourmet. The elderly actor displayed a various actions regarding

Cool video. You and Joel seem to be in heaven. I'm actually Thai from a Teochew family (but was raised mostly in the U. S) So I can relate to a lot of teochew cooking. I had a lot of it at my Grandma and Aunties houses on vacations to Thailand. Some of it can be bland, but a lot of it is really good.

Teochew is like the worst type of Chinese food available. So Boring and bland, why bother eating Tehchew food when there are far superior like Cantonese, Northern, Sichuan, even Xinjiang, Shanghainese and Muslim Chinese are far better. Teochew is like the Kraft Dinner of Chinese food spectrum.

Teochew/Chaozhou style Chinese food is my favorite style of Chinese food because it's tasty yet clean and healthy. I have eaten a couple of Teochew dishes when I went to Singapore and Malaysia. Plus, I also could cook Teochew style Chinese dishes because my father taught me how to cook them.

Eating traditional Chinese hotpot, you need to have lamb slices in there. That's what hotpot is all about. You also put things such as vegetables and cellophane noodles last because meat creates better flavor for the soup and vegetables absorb them.

This is what the world needs. True and pure authentic chinese food. Instead of disgusting americanized and greased up chinese food. Cuz it's just insulting to the entirety of the chinese culture, that what they make they consider is chinese food
