Here is an easy way I make Korean fried chicken. The seasonings make the chicken marinade and dredge aromatic and tasty. The crust always comes out crispy and delicious. I also will show you how to make my favorite sauce to coat the chicken with.
Ingredients
3 to 4 lbs bone-in chicken pieces
2 cups buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 1/2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp gochugaru (Korean chili powder/flakes)
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp ginger powder
1 large egg
DREDGE
3 cups ap flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
2 tsp gochugaru (Korean chili powder)
1 tsp ginger powder
2 tsp salt
SAUCE
1 Tbsp cooking oil
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/8 tsp ginger powder
1 cup ketchup
1 Tbsp gochujang ( Korean pepper paste)
1 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp honey
1/3 cup water
1 tsp sesame oil
