He is a great guy. but I disagree with his assessment 1. The sole agenda of Ottoman Empire was conquering territories and conversion2. Today almost the entire Central Asia is Islamic nations. if you go to Indonesia, Malaysia etc are also Islamic nations. 3. Even India was partitioned into Pakistan and later Bangladesh are also Islamic. even a small country like Maldives is Islamic. Were these countries Islamic earlier? They were forcefully converted and the process continues even today. And lastly he has another misconception about Indian food. If you dont know about Indian cuisines and food, dont misrepresent it.

I am Pashtun and my parents were born in Pakistan, nearer to Afghanistan- I want to embrace all that comes with being a Pushtana. All the research I have done etc all states Pashtuns are all Afghans, that is where we originate. I do love Pakistan but I find it difficult to relate to Pakistanis due to the difference in language, culture and tradition as well as just way of life. I do consider myself Afghan since Pashtun literally translates to ethnic Afghan- am I wrong in doing so?

Me and my family ate there this January on our way back from San Diego. We really enjoyed their food. The Chaapli kabab is the best. We really loved their idea of sitting on your knee and eating in group. Reminded me of home which is Bangladesh. They were very hospitable. Good price. I want to go again if I ever visit Houston.

It' strange his patrons include people of Indian descent, yet at 5: 22 he takes a jab at Indians saying, their spices will make you smell like curry for 3 days. While the smell of spices can stay with you for sometime, I don't think it's the correct thing to say, if you depend on that particular demographic for your business.

you have your way of life and I have mine but since the death of Mohammed, Muslims have used the fact people around them weren't Muslims as an excuse to do jihads. I'm not saying this as someone who hates Muslims or wants anything bad to happen but you guys have to stop trying to make stuff up

One finds solace in cooking for the people of the country who is butchering his native countrymen, in the name of war on terror. A person's judgement day will be with those people whom he has followed and loved. Anyways nice food. Love afghani cuisine.

Never had Afghan food but I'm glad to know that the food is not too spicy. He's right, a lot of times, Indian cooks go overboard with the spices and chilies. For me it throws off the balance of flavor of the dish. Can't wait to try Afghan food!
