I have medium brown colored hair but have dyed it purple for the last 5 plus years. I only bleach my hair twice a year and reapply the dye every 3 to 5 months (depending) What Iv'e learn is. 30 volume developer with cream beach works best, Artic fox purple does not fade to lavender lol and X MONDO IS THE BEST DYE TO USE, It has never damaged my hair, leaves my hair soft, love the shade of purple It give me when my hair is just bleach and when my roots grow out. I ALWAYS GET COMPLIMENT FROM STRANGES after using it and I buy mine at Sallys (so next time you are at Sallys buy Mondo instead!

bradmondo heyyyy! question. does your color work on after chemo re-growth (as in after hair loss. originally red/dirty blonde (mom has carrot red hair) my re-growth is coming in white in places and dirty blonde in others. in the past i've bleached - to within an inch of life! - then dyed lavender thru to deep purple. i'd like to go lavender again. right now my hair is about. 5 inches long all over. love some input before i lose the wig and i spend my $$$ THANK YOU!

Brad, I had the Worst experience at Sally’s over the weekend. Not only did they not have your browns & blond colors, but when I asked them about dying my hair they were trying to make me use permanent hair color. They told me that Demi would not work in my hair. I haven’t dyed my hair in over two years so I’m pretty positive it’s virgin hair. They were very misinformed, I asked about good salons they had no clue. I walked out! So disappointed

On Friday, I used a bleach wash to lighten the purple Splat based on your suggestion, Brad. 1: 1: 1, Wella Bleach, their 10vol developer, & clarifying shampoo. It's all gone (level 8/9) & my virgin roots are level 7/8. Ran out of developer & worked 3 12hr shifts over the weekend. Gonna pick up more developer to get my roots to the same level as everything else so I can dye it all GREEN
Can't use Xmondo because my scalp HATES dimethicone!

I have dark ash blonde hair (Dirty dishwater blonde) and I never have had to bleach my hair when applying any colors like purple, hot pink, red. In fact, my virgin hair will not let go of the wash out in 8-10 washes. That stuff stays in my hair ever so slowly fading until I cut it out. It's shocking actually. So much for temporary! (I've only ever used Arctic fox ) I don't curl my hair or anything. It is super healthy, but it grabs color HARD.

i need helpp! ive been dying my hair purple over my natural color which is a level 6 or 7, and ive loved the results but the dyes ive used so far wash out of my hair SO easy, which leaves me with my natural color on my bangs, and a pinkish reddish color everywhere else because some parts of my hair are bleached, does anyone know a dye that’ll be dark purple but vibrant and noticeable and wont wash out so easy

I dunno, I went purple with a box dye from L-Oreal, and it went pretty good! I got the semi permanent and got the shade that is a purple leaning toward red with the color being bright, BRIGHT purple, and going to darker purple on my hair. For context, with no natural sun bleaching, I have really, really dark brown hair that can be considered black, and it goes to a lighter milk chocolate brown.

Plssss make a video about going plum I’ve tried a million different colors including ur own and I know I need a dark purple and dark red but I don’t wand my hair to turn bright red in one wash or in the sun. and yes I use cold water and only wash my hair every few days permentant or semi it still washes out in one wash even with the color depositing hair conditioner

in these videos everything always turns out great for the ppl with the most uneven bleached hair that isn't even light enough but when I start with an even level 10 and put my pastel blue on it it turned out blue and green. and my sections might not have been great but it's just my money piece and I reapplied the color to make sure everything was fully saturated

You are just so damn cute! I’m trying your Amethyst depositing mask, but my natural hair is pretty dark. I have a few blond’ish extensions; so I used it on those. Do you think if I added it to the rest of my darker hair, it would look bad I’m terrified to bleach my hair, that’s why I used extensions to go lighter. Loving your super gloss defense spray!

Brad you say you shouldn’t watch this stuff anymore. Then don’t- no one is forcing you. You are a well trained hair dresser. Show how to properly do hair on live models. Show us your expert experienced with products on what to use on different hair types - how to have the correct consistency of bleach. What different shampoos ingredients do for you. Etc

I know you are mostly targeted towards women however i trans masc will be getting my first gender affirming haircut soon! (Hopefully lol) So im researching: ) i hope i’ll be a bit more comfortable in my body after a proper masc haircut as you seem to say often hair is more important to humans then we realize and can make or break your self confidence!

I did a butterfly cut from your short and the result was amazing! The problem is that I discovered that my left bangs are prettier and thicker than the right one so the cut appeared more beautiful on the left one! (The right one was stuck to my face as if it was dead and not like the left one which appeared exactly like the cut) Please I need help!

I've used Pravana Vivids purple. I don't know the exact name, maybe it's just violet but I've put it on my brown hair and it shows up. I do believe it's a little darker than the one the first girl used and it's a little cooler than that one too but I think if it's a dark enough color, it will show up on brown or at least show a little cast in the sun

29: 59 obviously there's the not putting enough (and not combing it through, not getting that _penetration)_ but with at-home jobs, there's also the I mixed up too much and I took an hour to apply over my whole head so the bleach is already dead and not lifting when you put it on your hair. fresh tiny bowls, fellow at-home DIY-ers

I didn't think the first girl's hair came out very well. Super purple on top and big areas of much darker hair on the mids, to lighter purple on the ends. I would think that when it fades, which will happen pretty quickly, it's not going to look very good. No offense, and JMO, but gotta call a spade a spade.

Sally’s can do returns if you have where you bought it in the store if you bought it online good luck returning it and I say good luck because half the time they don’t mail you the receipt and they just give you store credit. It really annoys me like I’ve stopped ordering online from them

Hi! Onthe first girl’s video, I use Arctic Fox (because I can’t get XMondo in Mexico ) and the purple took on the brown hair because it’s really well pigmented, but after two washes it will be out, I have purple higlights and after every retouch my entire head is purple for 2 days lol

Purple rain is what I used on my medium brown hair when I was trying to grow out the sections that were about 2 shades lighter from using Demi permanent with 30 developer. It covered surprisingly well, even stuck well and faded pretty nicely. I have very fine individual strands
