After years of destroying my own hair and then becoming a cosmetologist seeing and trying to treat so many people who have destroyed their own hair even many who had their hair destroyed by hairstylists my recommendation for drastic changes like dark to blonde or any color that requires lifting the hair more than 2 levels first especially for those who like to change their color often is to just invest in wigs or extensions. the wig and extension game has grown so much good lace wigs and extensions, while expensive, can be nearly undetectable when applied correctly. spend the money take them to a stylist to have them cut, styled, and installed and save the integrity of your hair. Yes you can have your natural hair colored by a stylist and never have an issue but finding a stylist who does amazing work and actually cares about healthy hair and maintaining your hair’s integrity can be a challenge and expensive (which is totally fine i believe hairstylists have every right to charge what they believe their work is worth) but if you don’t have the money to properly maintain your colored hair at home and at the salon. then just go with a good wig or two

U ask, so here's my logic why I overlap too much sometimes when lightening roots. I would rather end up with a little extra damage instead of black spots. My hair is already bleached, so I've already accepted there's gonna be damage. But it better at least be the color I want! Yeahh, it doesn't really make sense but that's what's motivating me in the moment when I'm doing my roots and I end up painting the bleach an extra 1/2inch-1inch onto the part that's already lightened.
Of course I know that if I end up with black spots I can go back and fix them, but I generally start impulsively dying my hair in the evening so there's a good chance that it's already like midnight by the time I'm making these decisions and I really don't want to do a bunch of fixes, I just want it to work in one session, even if I have to do a little extra damage to do it!

2 weeks ago I bleached my regrowth after a year, so it was huge. Suctioned my hair in many sections, put bleach only on regrowth, used 20vol, result was amazing. Then I put grey toner but I kept it for a little too long and I ended up with dark greyish blueish hair, kept it like this for a week so they can rest a bit. Last Wednesday I did bleach bath with 30vol, instruction said to keep it for 15-30 minutes, had to wash it off after about 5 minutes. Now my hair are very light, almost white. In a month or so, I'll try ash blond or grey again, but I'm thinking to use semi or demi permanent color this time. My hair are long, they're touching my butt and I'm not planning on cutting even 1 inch so I'll stay away from bleaching for next year. What do y'all think I should use now to get this greyish ashy color, semi or demi Brad, please help.

. I don't know why I'm watching these before bleaching my own hair. It's not giving me any confidence, but I'm only using 20 developer though I have really dark hair. Other than the spots that I've already bleach (I used a kit, regret it despite the fact it always worked before, going to do it properly this time. I just. hope it's fine. I have super thick hair, literally takes 3 hours to dry because I don't have a hair dryer.
The top of my head came out kinda like a rose gold after the purple dye, but I have watched so many tutorials (yours and a few others) so here's to hoping.

I have and had no hair shame for my whole life. Im talking I did not care if i had a full sunset on my head when i dyed my hair. Id just walk around like that for a week and bleach it again. in 2021 i shaved it all off and it took 3 years to get my head to stop making this clay like crude on my scalp from all the build up from using poop shampoos and whatever else. I loved the bald head for years until i kept getting are you sick comments FROM STRANGERS every time i went out. I now have 90s half grown out dad cut (aka no cut) I call it a dullet

3: 42 one thing to take into consideration is she probably has good experience with her own hair, like she already knows it’s going to take the longest time!
For me I’ve been doing my own hair for 24 years (I was a pre-teen my first time) so while I know I’m not an expert of doing hair in general I know how my hair reacts to various things, including bleach. Still I also know enough to keep an eye on how it’s going maybe re-moisten it or if I’m itching/burning to take it off.

Hey Brad, do you still do advice for viewers I had hip-length hair and went to a salon for a 10cm trim. They took off at least 30cm without asking (only the bottom 8 was damaged) and I've been crying non stop since. It doesn't even look very long anymore. I adored my hair and now it's gone and I don't know how to love my hair right now. I just wanna love my hair again. I'm 36yo, been depressed for a while, and my beautiful hair was something I was so proud of. I'm really balling.

I don’t understand people using larger and larger sections. I cannot even straighten my hair in large sections! I have very course 2c hair and it was 24 long last time I measured it. That has been a while and I sit on it now so it is probably several inches longer than that. I have to section and then section my sections to style my hair or it will be curly and puffy still. Section the sections again once you think you have sectioned enough!

Loving the old-school Windows alert noises
I'm so confused, #1 didn't use silver box dye That first round was just (box) bleach
# 2, with toner on bleached hair with no conditioner, I'm weeping, but that was also not silver box dye
(Do people think the previously bleached hair has had time to heal I find that overlap perplexing, too)
# 3, # 4, also not silver box dye, I FEEL DECEIVED (lol, jk, you Brad)

I don’t miss dying my hair, but love watching these videos.
I’m roughly 30-35% silvery white naturally with the other 65-70% medium brown. I love my natural color now. I dyed my hair so much when I was younger though. I had a lot of fun, but I’m just over it in my mid 40s. I used the 28 day wash out color to allow my gray to get to the ends as I got it cut.

I currently have dark brown/black faded box dyed hair with FRIED overbleached money pieces, bleached then re-dyed dark underside, and 1-inch ash blonde roots grown out AND I'm about to do an at-home bleach job while avoiding the roots and money pieces so I can dye everything purple. I'll just have to hope the underside doesn't fry off lol PRAY FOR ME

I have wavy hair, maybe it's the true curlies that are dry, but I have an oily scalp, always have (I'm going on 53. I never get why there's this generalization, especially on caucasian hair, that curls should be or are dry. My wavy hair is far from dry. unless I coat it in my stylers and diffuse it. Then yep. Dry.

It’s insane how many products these people use- Box after box after box. I did better with my hair when we only had yahoo to search and people never believed the search results because nothing was right.
You HAVE ENDLESS RESOURCES FOR HOW TO DO THIS RIGHT
AND YOU PEOPLE CONTINUE TO FAIL

As a pro who is STILL pleading with people to stop asking for silver hair, these DIY vids kill me. I have to get stoned to laugh. SIlver hair is awesome when/ if your hair goes silver. If you want a lot of silver toning and upkeep, you can pay abut $1200 and book a whole day to have a multiple process

Second girl sounds southern enough (and has the huge bottle of 40) that you can tell she's bleached that hair blonde since elementary school. I wasn't too surprised that she just barely managed not to melt it; she's an old hat by now. There's a southern culture of 'never blonde enough'

I Will say, while it just sounds hype, my hair does feel amazing after using xmondo blue. Way better than after the salon! I did a touch up soon after my color because I didn't love it and it was finally the right color and soft after using your stuff Brad!

As a curly haired girlie, I’m glad to have confirmed and feel validated in my life long decision in NEVER touching my hair alone. or with my very uneducated sisters and cousins, when we’re being silly (who all also has curls)
