If we had liked the Super Mario Bros. movie, George Romero writes the Resident Evil movie, Charlize Theron stars in Mighty Donkey Kong, and Waluigi. simply doesn't exist. With only a small change to the

There are a few classics here I never heard mentioned
Sakura Wars(2000, a masterful Sci-fi/steampunk/fantasy movie that not only helped to save the Dreamcast, but was nominated for 7 Academy Awards, of which it won 5. The story behind it was also amazing, the director of 1997's Legend of Zelda wanted to make a Sonic movie for the 1999 Summer Blockbuster season, when he went to Japan to ask for the licence from SEGA in 1998, he caught the ad for Sakura Taisen 2(you know the one I'm talking about) and the plans were changed, Iris became the figure of purity for most fans with people saying she was 'too pure for this cruel world she finds herself living in'(that is slightly based on a critics response)
Project X Zone(2012) sequel to the sub-par 'NAMCO X Capcom' from 2005, X-Zone featured SEGA Studios joining the 'Tri-force of developers'(so-to-speak, and brought forward a sequel, X-Zone 2, the following year(to less acclaim, still won 2 Academy Awards, and was nominated for 3) and renewed interest in Sakura Wars, leading to a series of solo films starting with 'Iris: A Sakura Wars story' released in December 2013, and the dupro series 'Sakura Wars: Neo' which is going to air it's 7th season soon, and a new series called 'Iris and the Flying Robot' which may or may not be connected to the manga 'Giant Robo'(which the 1967 Toei Live-Action show was dubbed as 'Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot')
Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing(2010-present) a Wacky Races-styled dupro series that has some acclaim to it, but it's game show spin-off(gambling, but for kids, mixed with regular quiz-show) Sonic And All-Stars Racing Transformed(2012-present) wasn't too big. But there had to be something to it, as they are STILL MAKING EPISODES EVEN NOW

Imagine if every game had a million -movie? - articles. Red Dead revives the western genre with a new Native American lead, and God of War struggles to live up to the impossible expectations. Grand Theft Auto is called a Godfather ripoff but still ales Fast and Furious second stage.
The Ghibli-helmed Nino Kuni movie catapults video game movies into prestige cinema and is the first to win an Oscar.
-Mario! The Musical- outperforms Hamilton on its opening week, and Chris Pratt chooses to play Luigi instead of Starlord, a good choice as superhero movies never filled out the empty niche that video game movies fill.

From what I understand the nature of famously lengthy cutscenes would be fairly different if 'dual production'/'dupro' would mean that live action actors were more seriously involved much earlier in a way which arguably parallel only fairly recent involvement of actors in video games via motion capture tech (Norman Reedus, Guillermo Del Toro and Conan O'Brien in 'Death Stranding' for instance)
: / Could imagine what 'dupro' made cutscenes for say the Metal Gear series and a fair amount of JRPG's would be like.

This alternate universe can be saved if we see some SimCopter RTMark-style anti-capitalist hacktivism in these in-theater dupro games, leading to a communist revolution in the United States, and the abolition of copyright entirely, saving Twitch streaming (Twitch becoming a collaboratively-run entertainment platform on the scale of Wikipedia, since money and value no longer exist as concepts, and Jeff Bezos and every other big tech CEO got beheaded in the Great Double-Jump Forward.

In the beginning I was confused and scared at how human minds came together to formulate with exacting detail a whole other universe, then I began to suspect that they had peaked through some hole and actually knew these things. With horror I realized they made it that way. The Luigi verse did not simply exist and they observed it, they made the Luigi verse to see what would happen

the wider implications of movies and games being so linked are wild to me. mixed media in our universe is largely seen as a gimmick (FMV games, ARGs around movies, etc) but in the Luigiverse, multimedia productions would become a lot more commonplace and shift the way media is presented to the public. versus is such a good series

A world without Waluigi is not one I could stand to live in (Although one with Tuigi and Waluigi would be more than acceptable.
Also 5: 53 that peach game was one of the best selling ds games? I mean it does look fun but that's wild
Edit: OH MY GOD pat gill designed tuigi? an artistic mastermind!

Can you please do an Alternate History of if we loved Venus De Milo from Ninja Turtles: Next Mutation? Or rather, what if if we liked that show in the first place. I-m of the minority where I loved that show and that character so it would be a cool childhood nostalgia what if for me. Thank you!

Ah making it so that Waluigi never existed hmm. Already trying to kill off BDG I see. Well without him have you considered the resulting Death of Polygon? Hmmmmmmmmmm?
Edit: I see you have acknowledged your error and let yourself die with our glorious WaDGi

in this better universe, I can imagine the indie movie/game festivals. Movies are projected onto a hanging bedsheet and people play handmade cardstock tabletop games.
Dnd gains popularity as a low budget high fantasy monthly zine

reply

I can't believe you made an alternate universe which is simultaneously a hellworld and gamer heaven. Never in a million years would I have pictured Sakurai being the Nicky Fury of this universe but god that had me wheezing.

-I wish more people like the Mario Bros movie: )- A new Mario Bros movie is announced starring Crisp Rat, causing an inevitable wave of 'NOT AS GOOD AS THE ORIGINAL -, ' and the monkey's paw curls a finger.

This video is now a lot weirder where Polygon accidentally guessed
A: That Chris Pratt would play a Nintendo Character
B: That they were only slightly off for which he would play

I like to think that the Zoom call in the background at 0: 21 is just everyone arguing over whether the production team behind the Versus series should call themselves P. I. S. S. or not

Putting a mirror down Jenna's center to flip her in the mirror universe was a nice touch, but I'd be lying if I didn't freeze in place and wonder if I misremembered her tattoos

I don't know, I'm pretty happy living in a universe where video game movies are all garbage and yet the Castlevania animated series is the best thing in the franchise.
reply

I don't think the name tuiji would be the name they'd give him, they'd probably keep waluigi as a name since it's a pun on the japanese -warui- meaning -bad-

The english-language localization of Mother 3 took me out of my immersion
Also, imagine if we were complaining about Luigi's up-air ladders in Smash

So with the actionizing of the movies, does this mean Devil May Cry never becomes its own series, and Dante remains the protagonist of Resident Evil 4?

What do you mean we don't like the super Mario bros. movie? How could we not like a movie feature Mario Mario and Luigi Mario.

i need a series of jenna doing this to all of the -bad- movies out there. she too deserves the fanbase bdg got with unravelled.

as someone who loves the smb 1993 movie enough to have spent time convincing someone to watch it literally today: yes

I would want this alternate universe to happen, because we-d have an Earthbound movie and the mother 3 localization.

How dare you rise from the bottom of the screen - in the intro of a Mario Bros-themed video - and NOT make a pipe sound

This movie straight up IS a masterpiece. It has literally nothing to do with Mario, but it's still absolutely incredible.

Anyone know what the two songs at the start of the video are? Need it for a very important academic presentation
