One Night Ultimate Werewolf is the perfect game for those curious about hidden role games. It's fun, fast, and a less stressful because, as the name suggests, it only takes one round! We've chosen to reveal our roles for only the first two rounds. If you want to know what they are for the last two, read below

This is why the tanner is such a good card. If you play with a tanner, it makes the difference between a weak lie and a strong lie even more valuable. As an example, a day could include this conversation:
Tanner - I was the seer. I looked at 2 middle cards, and found the robber and the troublemaker, so I know nobodys cards were changed as both the card changing characters were in the middle.
Doug - That must be a lie, because -I- am the seer, and I looked at Jill's card, and she was the troublemaker.
Bill - I can confirm that, I was the robber, I robbed Doug, and he indeed was the seer.
Jill - Yes I am the troublemaker, and I did NOT swap (tanner)'s card.
Doug points at Tanner '-WOLF-
Bill points at Tanner '-WOLF-
Jill points at Tanner '-WOLF-
The other three players, who were all villages, point at Tanner '-WOLF-
Vote now!
Tanner gets 6 votes and dies.
Tanner flips his card over HA HA I WIN!
Although if you have more savvy players, lets say Valerie the villager, things could change:
Valerie - Hold on, he says he is the seer, he says he knows where the robber is, and he says he knows where the troublemaker is. He is bluffing about 3 cards, and unless all 3 are in the middle, which is highly unlikely, he knows someone will call him out and everyone will think he is the wolf. That guy is TRYING to die. He is the tanner 100%. BTW you other 2 guys are quiet, what are you?
Vote now!
Everyone votes for the 2 quiet guys, who are indeed wolves.
Val, Doug, Bill and Jill win.

In the second round Pat should have said he stole the seer card as he could have been certain that the seer was telling the truth because they knew he was a robber and it would also make both of them look more suspicious which would be beneficial to the werewolves who he would want to help, also Brian upon hearing that he was stolen from should no longer have tried to help the werewolves win
And also the final round should have been a lot easier than it was, the gaslighting was fun to watch but ultimately unnecessary, Brian should have immediately claimed seer and accused Simone, if she claims troublemaker the best choice would be to Reveal what everyone is and then vote her out, anything else and she is either an ordinary person with whatever role she claims or a robber coming up with a lie in an attempt to save their skin, in that case you reveal the information and have everyone vote out a minion just in case she took a wolf

I played this game a bunch over the pandemic and this is my favorite story from that:
I am the doppelganger and copy player 2, who is the thief. I then steal player 3's card, and they are the troublemaker.
Player 2 steals my card, gaining troublemaker.
Player 3 Swaps players 4 and 5, who are masons.
Player 6 is the werewolf.
In the meeting, I say that I was the doppelganger, and that both players 2 and 3 are safe, for the reasons outlined above.
Player 2 confirms that they stole my card, and confirms we are both safe.
3 says they swapped 4 and 5, who confirm that they are Masons.
6 has not spoken at all, and is immediately murdered.
We win the game.

During the round where they tied in voting, I'm pretty sure it's not 'the Villagers automatically lose' but all votes that share the highest number go through. So if literally everyone was voted once, everyone would die, and only the Tanner would win, I think. Since the most votes were two for Jeff and two for Simone, best I could make it out, we would have the Tanner dead, so the Tanner wins, and the Werewolf dead, so the Villagers win. Or maybe the Tanner's death overrides Villagers? I'm unsure. Either way, Simone surely lost that round.

I don't know if I've ever commented on this video before, but there's some misunderstanding of the rules.
Werewolves do not need to kill a villager.
Tanner dying only causes werewolves to lose (villagers usually lose if the tanner wins, though)
The voting requirements are that you need at least two votes to kill, and all players with the highest number of votes die.

Love this game have its werewolf, vampire, super hero and alien iterations as well as a few of the expansions. Just such a good party game.
Also game 3 when votes tied 2 to 2 the villagers and the tanner win because the tanner and the werewolf die. The only time no one dies is if every player receives no more than one vote. Made the same mistake in the final game.

Okay, I've watched this maybe a dozen times, and somehow I've only just noticed the serious nonverbal dialogue between Pat and Jenna near the start of round three. Such powerful eyebrows on both of them, doing such amazing work.
reply

at 17: 45 when Jenna says she feels bad for killing pat, pat ever the sweetheart says -no, it's a game, it's a game, you won, - it's so sweet to see him reassure her for feeling bad (even tho it was a v clever trick)

Playing this game in candle light while sitting in a ring in a chair is so mush better. The vibe is a big part of the game. To make it better: make sure the storyteller is a person that-s likes to tell story-s

brain is very good at this game. the round where he was werewolf but then realizes he isn't anymore because jenna swapped them was awesome. you can see the shift between playing werewolf to being a villager
reply

This video actually got me, brother, and my cousin really into this game, to the point where we always play it together and have gotten to really high levels of deception and strategy with each other.
reply

In the second round didn't Brian mess up saying he's a villager, after knowing that he was robbed by Pat and now Brian should -support- to villagers and not the werewolf as he is no longer a minion?
reply

-i was really excited to get the drunk because I knew it was the role that would require me to do the least logical thinking- and then poor simone proceeded to be the only person on her team
reply

This version with the -one night- aspect really takes away one of the core driving elements of what makes a werewolf game good and virtually reduces it to which cup is the bean under.
reply

WHAT HAPPENS IF:
-any villager is voted out, werewolves win
-minion gets voted out, werewolves win
-werewolf gets voted out, villagers win
-tanner gets voted out, tanner wins

reply

Not enough of these comments are highlighting that poor simone just wanted a chill round as the drunk that required her to make no effort and instead was the only innocent person in the room
reply

I really want to play werewolf right now. Can anyone recommend me an app or website that i can play it online. (If I can talk instead of type words, that would be great)-- thank you
reply

At 14: 29, since brian knew pat was not the werewolf and therefore probably wasnt lying, why did he not just call out jenna as the werewolf since he was robbed the minion by pat?
reply

after round 1 its best to say -I am the wearwolf. - If they beleive you you win, if they dont beleive you you arent suspected as the wearwolf and wont die anymore.
reply

Round Four is the highest tier of Simone. Not only is she happy to be the drunk so she doesn't have to think about it, but hey! Everyone is against her too!
reply

I like how Simone in the last round was excited she didn-t have to think, when she was the only one actually trying to find a werewolf.
reply

simone is like the audience insert character in this, so realtably confusd and pursuing the truth when legit everyone is on the other team
reply

I-ve watched this a lot of times and I never quite realized that in the last round everyone but Simone is on the werewolf team that-s wild
reply

Find it funny that they find it easier to believe Pat could be werewolf twice in a row than that Jeff could be seer twice in a row.
reply

Brian: -Okay, so it definetly makes sense. -
Also Brian: --proceeds to explain the exact moment Walter White became Heisenberg--

reply

21: 20 I absolutely LOVE how Jenna looks like she-s been waiting her whole life for a chance to cause maximum confusion
reply

The hard hubcap rheologically spot because bankbook enzymatically stitch as a historical bagel. subsequent, jazzy sociology
reply

Does the tapping really help? I played with a lot of family in the background so players couldn-t really hear much lol
reply

I was once seer for five games in a row and it didnt break until we took it out and replaced with doppelganger
reply

if its a tie, both players in the tie get eliminated, so the 3rd round tanner and villagers should have won
