I'm not fond of how little real musical presence there is in this game. Sure, it's there when you first enter the pyramid but it's not the sweeping, lovely music you really hear when playing Mario games like Super Mario Galaxy or 3D World. Idk, it just makes the world seem super empty to me.

Super Mario Odyssey it's a different universe from 3D World, 3D Land, Galaxy 1 & 2, Except 64 and Sunshine. So, this game is beautiful. I'm myself again with this new Nintendo Switch titles. Super Mario Odyssey/ Metroid- Prime 4 & Samus Returns.

To the people asking -Where is Super Mario Galaxy 3? - You are looking at it. Stop asking the question. Besides calling it Super Mario Galaxy 3 would be unoriginal. I am glad they named it something else.

Very fun gameplay but it looks a bit easy too, i hope there will be plenty challenge phase in every world, or at least unblock special hard level with the collect of moon.

I feel like something should happen to Mario if you take damage & hear the -shrinking- sound effect. Otherwise, keep it like Galaxy & have Mario flash for a second or two.

Were did you get all of this gameplay? How did you get to do a screen capture, and if you did do a screen capture at E3 then how did you get to all of these other regions?
reply

How do you jump up and backwards inside the inverted pyramid? Inside the 8-Bit mural? What are the sequence of buttons to press on the controller? Thank you

holy SHIT the music inside the Inverted pyramid is insanely good. especially the 2d mural version. It has shades of SM3'S Ice world. shivers.

Also, the Moon collecting is a bit jarring but that's probably b/c I'm so used to the Power Stars that any other substitute is off-putting.

Holy balls I am loving that soundtrack. The inside felt like classic mario and the outside felt like a nod to BoTW and it's ambience.

-1: 08 so I guess you can't get in the pipe where all the goombas are coming out? I've tried but maybe I'm missing something?
reply

Do the moons replace stars? If they do, then this is the first time you collect important things in the way of Banjo-kazooie

I love how when you collect a moon as 8-bit Mario the jingle sounds more retro. Little details like that make a game for me.

I think, major dungeons (where you get grand moons) should be at least twice as long. Or even full-blown Zelda-like mindfreaks.

We saw Mario merged into the walls and in 8-bit form. That really is a reference to The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

So Bullet Bills have FREAKING AFTERBURNERS and don't use it. Mario games pick up logic and throw it out of the window.

Music reminds me of either Super Paper Mario's chapter 1-4 music or Super Mario Galaxy 2's flip swap galaxy music
reply

This is basically a throwback to another level in Super Mario Galaxy 2 where they had the same mechanic in here.

Anyone else notice that the -Moon Get- jingle sounds -AWFULLY- similar to Super Mario 64's -Star Get- jingle?
reply

honestly. oddessy is doing the open world collect a thon platformer genre better than yooka laylee tried to do.
reply

How do I get back inside the mural? I can only get in through the top and can't back track far enough
reply

Nintendo. You already have my money you don't need more videos. This is the new Mario 64! Game of E3 2017.
