You got at least 6 of them right, although not in the right order. And it would be really easy to fill the list with nothing but songs from Phantom and Superstar. I was glad for Phantom of the Opera and Music of the Night but All I Ask of You really needs to be in there too. Gethsemane should be MUCH higher and I Don't Know How to Love HIm really needs to be in the top ten as well. I'm glad Superstar was there. You should drop You Must Love Me from the Evita movie and replace it with A New Argentina. Obviously Don't Cry For Me needs to be there as does Memory from Cats. I would have put Go Go Joseph over Any Dream Will Do. And I guess that makes ten although As If We Never Said Goodbye was a good runner-up.

If I'd done this list it'd be as follows:
10) Any Dream Will Do
9) Superstar
8) Gethsemane
7) Don't Cry For me Argentina
6) Beneath a Moonless Sky - (yes, really)
5) Whistle Down the Wind
4) Past the Point of No Return
3) Phantom of the Opera
2) The Music of the Night
1) Memory
Phantom is my Personal Favourite
Note - I HATE Love Never Dies
That one song is AMAZING and Memorable

Let's be honest, the Phantom of the Opera should have been number one, even though the Music of the Night is a better song. The most iconic song is supposed to be the one with the greatest impact, and that's exactly what it is. Even people who have never watched a musical in their life are familiar with it.
Don't cry for me Argentina and Memory, second and third respectively.

I dont get how memory is 4th on this list and yet 1st on the top 10 songs from theatre musicials. It sounds like you just make an arbitrary list and have no logic or consistency. Agreed a phantom song was going to be on top but I hate these lists with no consistency. And did a lot change 4 years from when both were made. answer, nope.

With all the great singers/actors who sang POTO (I wont even demand that it be Ramin, even though hes my favorite, why would they use so much from the movie? Theres loads of good quality videos out there for live versions. And way better than. well you know who.

I personally think that If Only You Would Listen would also be a good choice. It's a really powerful song with the kids singing what they wish they could say to their parents but also to parents in the audience telling them to listen to their kids.

I think a great song to be mentioned would be High Flying, Adored from Evita. I love Antonio Banderas's voice when he sings that song, also its a great male ballad

I'm happy to see my favorite Phantom of the Opera song is No. 1. Let's agree that Michael Crawford made the best phantom. but if you have another favorite, that's okay too
reply

Did anyone do research? Elaine Paige (amazing! BTW) did NOT first play Norma Desmond. It was Patti Lupone.
Also, Glenn Close first did in in the US and was the worst.

Im a simple girl.
I see my husband, Erik (the phantom) and I click.
WE STAN THE PHANTOM
Phantom of the Opera is the best musical (in my opinion) PERIODT.

Memory was originally written for Sunset Blvd. but they needed a finale song for grizabella and placed it in cats. Good choice in my opinion

All I Ask of You from the Phantom of the Opera and Love Changes Everything from Aspects of Love can easily replace some of the mentions on your list.
