The Least Memorable Number One Movies Of All Time Jakob: I think avatar was good and it ranks higher in my book than many of these marvel cartoon movies.
But I would love that Hollywood would spend some more time on the plot of many of their movies as it surprisingly how generic and boring many of these movies are and it's like some limited mindset have made the plot and used some generic template as a guideline.
Same with many sci-fi movies. it's often an plain action movie fronting under a sci-fi theme. Would prefer more sci-fi movies with a bonafide sci-fi theme ythat makes your mind wonder about bigger apects. though a movie like interstellar was pretty fascinating. also enjoyed movies like another world and Melancholia even though they ofcourse was not Hollywood, recall Melancholia was from the Danish director Lars von Trier. but damn it look good even on a TV like OLED and in high res. beautiful shots.

Avatar? Really? The movie comes up literally every time we've seen another 3D movie, concluding the only time 3D was worth it compared to just seeing it in 2D was Avatar. It was a movie you HAD to see in theatres. We don't talk about it because it's out of theatres, came out too long ago to be relevant now but also came out not too long ago to be talked about in a 'movie classic' sense.
The movie did so well that it was also very appealing and popular to magnify it's shortcomings, as if to tell the masses 'stop loving this movie soooo much, it's just dances with wolves people! '.
I think most people wouldn't consider Avatar mediocre, just ok, or undeserving of it's laurels.

I can not agree regarding Avatar - it was impossible to buy a ticket upon its release in weeks. There is no buzz now regarding sequels because they are not even started to be filmed - but it will change when marketing will start and first images / trailers will appear - leave it to Mr. Cameron to make the impossible, as it always was with all his movies, which turn out to be the biggest hits - with character who don't wear spandex.

Avatar only did well because it was one of the first movies to properly implement 3D effects in the theater. I remember seeing it 3 times just because I was so blown away with the effects at the time. Now that many movies properly utilize 3D, Avatar no longer stands out. Watching it at home without 3D is a let-down, especially since the storyline is just Pocahontas in space.

what are u on about with avatar? that movie was insane because of hos beautiful it was. maybe people dont talk it up much now because its old news, but thats because of how many years have gone by, but i guarantee that if you ask someone about it, they would still remember seeing it for the first time and remember the experience they had with it. trash video dude

I kind of feel the same way about the Star Wars franchise. Sure they make money, but it seems they are getting panned more and more by movie goers and quickly forgotten. Starting with the Phantom Menace. For me though, Rogue One was actually the most interesting. It sure wasn't like the original Star Wars release where people went back over and over to see it.

Just because a movie didn't get a sequel, doesn't mean it wasn't memorable. Most of these movies are ones that I really enjoyed and will watch again with no issue. Also, how can you say Avatar wasn't memorable? It made huge amounts of money and now is it's own section in Disney World's Animal Kingdom. I would go down to Disney again just for that alone!

i loved the avatar when i saw it and i didn't even get to see it in 3d cause that was sold out but after 8 years of pretty much nothing, i just don't really care about the sequel at this point. if they show the first avatar in theatres again alongside the second one i may go and watch both in 3d tho >_>

The Karate Kid remake - the most expensive use of a licensed copyright for a character that does not appear in the film. It isn't about Val Amor or his successor, it isn't set a thousand years in the future, and the remake doesn't even have karate. But yet it pays to use the DC Comics character's name.
