The Untold Truth Of Doug
video description
All the others characters were various colors with white features and voices. I always believed it was a workaround to having to add Black, Asian or Hispanic characters. I never thought Skeeter to be anything but a blue colored white. As a kid my friends and I couldn't help notice this one sided look of Doug. Especially when other cartoons made an effort to have at least one ethnic character. Doug found a way to have none. It was a world where Whites existed but no other races. Everyone spoke English and all holidays were White European. I preferred Hey Arnold, As Told Told by Ginger and The Weekenders.

Doug was and still is my favorite Nicktoon. Growing up, my older brother and best friend both loved it too, but I have heard some people criticize the show for being boring. But the fact that the show was pretty simplistic is one of the things that appeals to me most about it. That and Fred Newman. Doug had such an incredible soundtrack. I didn't like the Disney version though. :/

I knew plenty of people who married their high-school sweethearts and have families to this day. Rare. you BET IT IS. but with so many people in the world. rare is more common than you think. I think Patti showed a lot of interest in Doug over the years. And given the events of the movie and their long history. I think they'd do great as a couple.

Ah the memories,
loved this show! Never thought about who the colorful characters were supposed to represent,
just thought they were all colorful people. Some had more sass than others. Also my mom pronounced Doug as Duuog, prolong the u, she didn't speak much english, I still say it that way. haha

He doesnt see Doug and patti together because its not realistic? Because Most people dont end up with their first love? Most people dont have a dog that can skateboard, cut the grass and listen to a stereo with headphones on Jenkins. Also its a cartoon!

Hmm the last line in this video could be an idea for a Doug return (kinda like how they're making a one hour Rocko special. Doug reunion type episode where Patti introduces her husband. But what has Doug been up to these past 10-15 years?

-Doug was actually a real person, but he was insane. All of the odd events; the walking, talking animals; and all the other oddities were just in his head. And he was actually driven crazy by the annoying theme. Boom, Roseanne ending.

He's right. Most people don't end up with their highschool crush, and if they do it doesn't last. It's completely realistic that Doug wouldn't end up with Patty in the end, which is why that thread was never resolved.
