I have to agree with Ian on this one, it's just a box of ROMs. So with that in mind instead of getting caught in the drama you could just do this. Go to Etsy and get yourself a Raspberry Pi zero case in the form of a mini SNES, buy yourself a pi zero, get a couple wireless snes controllers, assemble it and install retropie and enjoy your games.

Or save yourself the headache and don't support a company who routinely pulls this kind of shit. Download the emulators and enjoy the full library of games, foreign and domestic, instead of the twenty that they decided to put on there. The only generation I don't have one for is the Gameboy because I still have mine.

Just buy the real system and own actual copies of the games. sure it will cost you more in the long run but wouldn't of rather have the real thing. no one is going to care an an emulator years from now they are going to want to original with real games that you can insert.

Ah, it totally is not worth it. I still own all those games and the original hardware. Star Fox 2 technically has been out on emulators for a long time so this isn't worth the hassle. Now if they do a mini N64 and I know they will, that I will do whatever it takes!

Nice way to lose all credibility by ENCOURAGING people to support scalpers! People probably wouldn't have any trouble getting this thing if it weren't for scalpers, and the only way for them to stop being a problem is if people stop giving scalpers their money!

I pre-ordered it pretty much as soon as it was added to my country's online retailer. There is one listed NES Classic at retail price on one site, but I'm not sure if I trust it. The seller says the box was only opened to take photos and it's never used.

This would not be such a problem if no one bought it at inflated prices on eBay. I remember last year people who bought them just to sell them cause they know they could. If they didn't have that opportunity only people who want one would buy one.

Create demand for a product and then dont make enough of it, which the result is a scalpers market as well pirating. Now you can just buy a RaspPi + 3d printed case + roms and you got a NES or SNES Classic.

In my opinion Nintendo screws up with demand on purpose because they know people will buy. They should have more units available and satisfy demand. If no one would buy the system on launch day hey would learn.
