So! Regarding my statement about future videos at the very end. To elaborate:
_I do not plan on reviewing any more Sims 4 packs, _ other than full expansions most likely. There are only so many times I can say I'm disappointed or that something sucks, after all.
The Sims 4 continues to get new content all the time and I generally just don-t care, man. Over the past seven years and 50+ videos I-ve made about it, I have said everything that I wanna say about it, many times over. At this point I feel like I-m going nuts repeating myself. Like, we all know EA is a pile of turds and the core gameplay of The Sims 4 isn't gonna change all of a sudden, so I haven-t bothered talking about the last six or seven content packs because my heart simply isn-t in it anymore.
I value my time enough not to waste it on covering things I-m not fully invested in. Years ago now, covering this series went from -ooh, I get to make videos on The Sims! - to -ah crap, I _have_ to make videos on The Sims. - It became an obligation, then a burden, and now it's just a pain in the dick to keep up with.
So yeah. I-m tired of this onslaught of products. Exhausted, honestly. The series has gone off in confusing directions with monetization schemes I don-t care for, and it's become clear the new content is being made for an audience different than me, someone that's a specific breed of old school simmer. I-d rather not waste my time and yours talking about overpriced products made by a corporation I dislike. So going forward I only plan to check in on the series when a full expansion comes along (if that, since at least there are only one or two of those a year. That's as much as I can stomach.
Thank you to all of you for watching over the years, and I truly appreciate all the messages you-ve sent in asking for more Sims videos. But for all intents and purposes, I've mentally checked out and left The Sims behind. Which is fitting, since it left me behind years ago.

Since you've said you are pretty much done with reviews unless it is on expansions, this is my opinion on each major update.
Cottage Living: Cool addition, but needs more content. Not enough going in for 40 dollars
Snowy Escape: Unique addition that brought some cool things, but should have been a game pack. Not an expansion
Eco Lifestyle: You can see how your actions make a difference which is really cool. Flips the concept on its head and offers a challenge. Worth the money
Discover University: Needs more content. Should be a game pack and that is being generous
Island Living: Not enough content. Off the Grid stuff has too many flaws. Should have been a game pack
Seasons: SHOULD HAVE BEEN BASE GAME
Get Together and City Living: Should be one pack. This would make it worth the price. Neither are worthy of being expansions on their own
Get Famous: Unique idea. Keeps you occupied a while. I'd say it is worth the 40 dollars
Cats and Dogs: SHOULD HAVE BEEN BASE GAME
Get to Work: Worth the money. Good for one of the first expansions. Always something to do
Realm of Magic and Strangerville: Should have been one pack. Not 2 separate ones. Or add Vampires and make it an expansion
Jungle Adventure: Worth the 20 dollars. Fun while it lasts
Spa Day: Should be 10 dollars not 20
Dine Out: Should be 10-15 dollars not 20
Outdoor Retreat: Worth the 20 dollars
Parenthood: SHOULD HAVE BEEN BASE GAME
Overall there is a lot of content that should have been in the game from release. And the ones that were new ideas didn't live up to standards 90 percent of the time. If you ever buy packs, do it when they go on sale. They hit 50 percent off fairly frequently now

Wow, I must've been 13 when I started watching your reviews on sims (I had probably started playing Sims when I was 10/11 and Sims 2 Pets DS and Sims Bustin' Out on gamecube were my first games and then I moved onto Sims 2 and eventually Sims 3 PC games. Im 25 now. I remember being so excited to watch your reviews on Sims and the anticipation of a new expansion. I would save up what few dollars I got so I could buy the pack based on your reviews. Or I would watch your gameplay videos in hopes that I could one day play it as well. Even now, on occasion, I still check back to hear your thoughts on Sims 4, a game I refuse to spend my own money for. I bought the base game and the seasons expansion and that was as much as I could stomach and that was while I was in college. I remember being able to play Sims for days without getting tired but when I got Sims 4, I couldn't even play it straight for an hour. Reading your pinned post just further sealed it in cement that the Sims has lost its magic.

What else can be said that hasn't already about this game or EA? They intentionally wanted to dumb this game down and market it out to the lowest denominator possible, but charge through the roof for essentially a worse version of a previous installment in the franchise. And for a family game, why the bare-bones content for the children in the game - that was the largest problem for me, and one of the reasons I dropped this game five years ago. As many people (including me) have said, I wish someone else would make a similar style of game to rival this. better than this one of course - if at all possible.

Sir
One of my favourite things about this new expansion is the simple living challenge you can give to your household, though it might have also come in a free update.
What I love about it is that now groceries don-t magically appear just by you paying some bucks, but you actually need to buy groceries, either by ordering delivery or at the store, just like in Sims 2.
In addition, another challenge makes it so you have to store water and don-t have electricity which makes it so you can role play that you live in the older days.

One of the biggest minor nitpicks with these expansion packs are the traits. They are either way too specific or way too inbuilt into the pack's mechanics. For example, Animal Enthusiast. ANYONE can talk to and convince animals, but honestly Animal Enthusiast should be the only ones who can do so. And they don't even get any bonuses from interacting with cats and dogs or any of the other minor pets the game now has according to the wiki. Okay. This is something they did in TS3 to an extent, but it's glaring here.

Cottage Living is actually a really interesting Expansion Pack.
I love the new English cottagecore aesthetic and it is certainly a nice escape from my actual real life aesthetic which is a modern urban city in Asia which is pretty much IRL Cyberpunk but with even more jank and no fancy future tech.
The expansion pack is also the closest thing to recreating the Ghibli/Miyazaki aesthetic in The Sims (similar to films like Castle in the Sky, Kiki's Delivery Service, Howl's Moving Castle, and Arrietty.

I know this comment will get lost or not seen by you Clint, but I want to say thank you. I know your reviewing the Sims has taken a toll on you and I know you-ve been doing this for over a decade but I want to say thank you. I found you when you reviewed a childhood gem-Keen Dreams, and even saw some of your older pre-LGR videos (unless that-s a fever dream. You did look at an abandoned mall didn-t you) Either way, thank you for over a decade of amazing videos. You-ve made me really happy man.

Would you consider making a review of the mod version of the farm pack? I'd enjoy watching your tour of the features! I don't have much interest in old tech but I miss your awesome narration: ') and I'm also curious to get to know the pack in more detail. edit: Maybe it would be more fun for to give spotlight to some deserving detailed mods in general? I get it if you'd rather not ofc: ) wishing you the best regardless, it was great hearing your voice again!
