Simone Bisle in the last Olympics passed ahead of her Chinese competitor because of the Judges. Her chinese rival did everything flawlessly and still lost in at least two events. Simone is heavier and -sticking- too hard (sometimes incompleting the land safely.
I believe she's staying more for political reasons since she is such a great influence in the US, but I'm afraid that that is pushing her into a (possibly) career ending injury.

She's awesome and seems lovely. Although imagine having a Barbie doll of yourself, saving it for years in case you had children to pass it on to, and then it just gets the haircut/decapitation treatment of most Barbies with little kids. :) (In hindsight, if I were her daughter/son, I'd be kicking myself, because I'd think it was amazing as an adult to have a Barbie of my mother)

Oh cool, some of my girls and I met her when we were still in competitive gymnastics. She was really funny, we kept trying to get her to race us (we were kids, probably about ten years old) and she would start to run and then stop immediately, so we just kept running without her only to realize she totally duped us. --

So humble! A lot of people don't give her enough credit for that 1996 Olympics. She was the only one of the seven to have all her event scores contribute to the final total. Whereas, some people might have had a high showing in one or two events and messing up in others - she was THE MOST CONSISTENT!

Men use honey in gymnastics for Parallel Bars. We use it to sticky up the bars in combination with chalk (hence why it's in the chalk bucket) in order to cake the chalk on the bar and swing better on the apparatus. We also use it to cake chalk on the high bar too, but mostly p-bars.

I think you guys should bring her back, and let her do a reaction to a TV show called make it or break it. On one episode, the boys and girls elite teams swapped, so the girls had to do the boys routines and the boys had to do the girls routine

The first 15 seconds of this video unlocked my long-forgotten memory of a time when I was about 7, when me and my gymnastics friends made it our mission to dig and dive to the bottom of the foam pit to see what was there. Good times -

whether a gymnast is wearing grips or not actually doesn't have to do much with costs, but it's just preference! take a look at Lieke Wevers for example, she doesn't use grips but the Netherlands has those readily available

Watch someone send Dominique a Barbie now! You know there-s a collector out there! And I remember watching her fall both times at worlds and what a heart break but even without the world titles she-s still a star!

Darn. Clickbait. Enjoyed Dominique Daws, but I really did want an answer to that question. She got asked it twice but couldn-t answer. I guess you need a collab with a gymnast, physicist and a trainer/anatomist?
