With Darth Disney holding the keys to Star Wars, the fate of the expanded universe is at stake. Since the movies are only a fraction of the franchise-s stories, Angry Nerd makes a desperate plea to the only one who can help save the unabridged material: George Lucas

It's like a thousand voices shouted out in ignorance. yet the Death Star hasn't come to silence them yet.
I've read all the EU stuff and I can't think of one bad thing to say about it. It's continuity was surprisingly tight and even helped mend the horrible plot holes between the 2 trilogies.
The Expanded Universe gave us strong women characters as well as a fantastic story arc from NJO and beyond.
But casual fans have a strong hatred of EU and it's strange. How can you hate something that single handedly SAVED the franchise from heading off into obscurity in late 80's! If it weren't for the EU we wouldn't have Star Wars in our pop culture today.
And to quote some classic WWF Kurt Angle -It's true. It's damn true! -
So why don't we take a breather from all this hate and appreciate all the authors and artists whose hard work produced some of the best stories this universe will ever see.
And though I wish no one ill will for following Mickey's New Empire I will not be found sitting in the theater for Episode 7 counting how many -hidden Mickey's- they put in to the movie.

I would have to say that the Force Unleashed is my favorite storyline in the Expanded Universe. While some feel like it could go to hell or think that Star Wars is better off without Lucas only because of Jar Jar, I disagree. The Expanded Universe brought to light new characters and stories that Lucas probably couldn't imagine and while these new storylines and characters were not Lucas' idea, he did have to approve of them before they were released to the masses. I think that for a lot of us, it was as if we were taking on an awesome ride and then the lights came on and someone said -thanks for coming and goodbye. - You have to to remember that a great deal of us star wars fans spent our time and hard earned money on this EU. Now that Disney is saying that it never existed, just gives the hardcore fans a big middle finger. Thanks Michael Eisner. (I'm not sure how you spell his last name)

I'm not sure that he's not been sarcastic but I for one will not miss the cheap deus ex machina that were the clone Emperors or the fan appeasement of bringing back Boba Fet just because we liked his style. And what the hell was that? Roger Rabbit Strikes Back? Oh you wacky expanded universe, I'll miss the way you were held together by retcons and bubble gum. Hopes and wishes could not hide the scars of your many revisions. Maybe if we all clap our hands and cry out -I believe in the EU. I do I do- you will soar once again. Yet I doubt it. EU, my old friend. Goodbye and good riddance.

I would say that my favorite expanded universe story was the Republic Commando series, written by Karen Traviss, based off of the video game by the same name. The series expanded so much on clones in the GAR and made Mandalorians even more badass. somehow. Unfortunately it got cancelled once the Clone Wars TV show got around into making the new Mando lore where they are all peace loving wimps instead of a badass warrior culture. the last book never got released >_>
and for that treason, the creators of the Clone Wars shall never be forgiven

I personally love The Old Republic. Games and books. Think it was three or four book series. At least two of them were based off the MMO and the other was a prequel to Star Wars: Death Troopers. I honestly hoped for a horror sci-fi movie adaptation of Galaxy of Horror or Death Troopers/Red Harvest. But after I learned that Disney now owns Star Wars, I gave up all hopes for those possible movies. But now that novels are now non-canon, well, just sucks really.

Lets get real here at why disney did this. they are nazis when it comes to their brand. they don't own any of the stories of the expanded universe prior to buying and taking time to hand select what stays and what goes would be a waste of their money. So why not just say only the movies, cartoon and these books here only count.
People call it good business. I just call it greed. they are no different then the sith they try to portray in their own films.

SWTOR, KOTOR, force unleashed all extinguished by Disney? it WILL NOT happen >< thanks angry nerd for posting this: ) do you guys know how much time got invested for the EU? around 30 years! I don't know about you but im not gonna see that majority go to waste because some movie writers need more room to breath. Preserve the expanded universe, talk about it, share it, use social media to eliminate this reckless decision made by Disney; )

What you see as -betrayal- is actually a smart business choice. Most Star Wars fans didn't even bother with most of the expanded universe. More importantly, most people that are going to watch the new Star Wars movie haven't even touched the expanded universe. If the expanded universe remained cannon then the movie would suck just for the fact that no one knows what is going on!

All you people in the comments who sat gorge Lucas was good your no correct he just did not do any thing but let books go past. Disney is a peach of shit. The only good things are marvel, which does all the movies them selves and Disney just puts it's name on it, and pixer.
It's time for me to right my own fan fiction.
