A Timeline Of Bonnie And Clydes Spree Of Love And Crimes

The release of Netflix's The Highwaymen begs an important question: What is the true story of Bonnie and Clyde? Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow truly did live a fast and wild life on the wrong side of the law. A timeline of Bonnie and Clyde's spree offers a play-by-play of the critical events in the couple's short-lived lawbreaking career. Bonnie and Clyde's spree occurred against the backdrop of the Great Depression. Both Texas natives, Bonnie and Clyde were close in age - Clyde was born in 1909 and Bonnie in 1910 - and united in circumstance, since both came from families that often struggled to make ends meet. Their attraction quickly turned into a relationship, no doubt heightened by their shared ambition for fortune and fame. Holding up stores and banks became a means for the pair to gain wealth and excitement in down-and-out America

The narrator blames everything on Bonnie and Clyde. Bonnie was actually primarily an accomplice and extensive research done since then suggests that Bonnie never fired a shot at anybody. She was anything but innocent but she was mainly there because she was in love with Clyde.
Buck and Blanche didn't actually join the Barrow Gang. They met up with Bonnie and Clyde in Joplin; reportedly so that Buck could persuade Clyde to turn himself in. Buck and Blanche were planning to leave to live straight lives in Dallas but the police showed up and a shootout ensued. Now essentially sucked in, Buck ultimately accompanied Clyde on robberies and even murdered but Blanche was only there because her husband was. Her only real crime was being there when everything between Joplin and Iowa went down. She was framed and sent to prison for allegedly attempting to murder a law enforcement officer although she was even less likely than Bonnie to fire a shot. The officer she allegedly tried to kill was actually sympathetic and befriended her.
Also, Buck Barrow was mortally wounded in Platte City, Missouri. It's arguable whether he was shot in Iowa but, regardless, he had virtually no chance of survival by the time he reached Iowa.
A good read is Go Down Together by Jeff Guinn. This is a thoroughly researched case study that puts the fictional accounts of Bonnie and Clyde, including Warren Beatty's 1968 fairy tale of a movie, to shame. Another good read is Blanche Barrow's My Life With Bonnie And Clyde. She wrote this while in prison but then hid it away. Her manuscript was found and published after her passing on Christmas Eve, 1988.

Took commenters suggestions and looked up The Highwaymen. I gotta say it was a good film. What tore my heart out were the fans reaching in their vehicle and just grabbing at anything and everything. Yeah, the ambush wasn't right, but, at the same time, had they had another second or two, they, B & C, would've retaliated - but damn, so many rifles/bullets No, not heroes but really not criminals in a sense, I don't know. they were mislead and made terrible decisions. Just very sad.

This is sooooo far off what really happened holy crap. The shootout were blanche was partially blinded and husband killed was not in iowa that was platte city. The previous shootout he said happened in platte city happ3in joplin missouri. There's about ten more waaaay far off mark historical inaccuracies. Like super wrong!

As glamorizing as it was, the original Bonnie and Clyde film with Dunaway and Beatty. They were people and this was a frenzy to them.
They were surviving and it looked okay until the law realized it was a Barrow. His name is what made this famous. His regular god given name.

Bonnie and Clyde were just buying time before they died. They knew they were gonna die but not that soon they werent prepared it was such an unexpected death didnt feel sorry for them but felt sorry the way they died and how they werent buried next to each other as they wanted

Politicians have killed a lot more people than these two could ever think about killing. Most of the ones they killed was trying to be heroes and save the banks money and got killed instead. What they did was wrong. But I still say politicians are the biggest criminals!

All I got to say in this I'm not going to do it myself but if you're going to do something wrong at least do it right and don't think twice and did it but they had to do and it did it wrong right not condone what they did but if you do something wrong do it right

With how shitty pay is now and how unaffordable homes and a decent way of life is becoming you can expect Bonnie and Clyde situations in the next few years I bet. Young kids/adults with nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Liar, they were not clutching guns at all, the guns we're on the floor of the car not in their hands.
Edit, Clyde had 40 bullet holes in his jacket how did only 17 bullets hit him this guy is a compulsive liar.

Criminals! Who has the rights to the name Bonnie & Clyde? If both their families had the choice for the final resting place of each, then the parents should have gotten the rights to the infamous name.

Bonnie & clyde where a product of the times ' ie the great depression ' when some people have no money & no hope they resort to crime ' not condoning their crimes at all ' however you can see the reasons

Where is the actual car they were in? Every photo I have seen, are not the same and all claim to be the real death car. The bullet holes do not line up.

Videos like these just remind me of the hypocrisy of idolizing gangsters while wagging their fingers at other groups of people's criminal activities.
