As a kid I lived in a traumatic household and never knew God or any belief at that and I seen a ghost in our hallway. As I was sleeping something just woke me up and as I gathered myself I turned my head towards the hallway and seen her standing there. She looked at me and the fear came over me as I pulled the quilt over my head and looked through the holes in it I just froze. She looked directly at me and smiled and turn around and walked away into my parents room and disappeared. I just happened to fall asleep in the living room on the couch. Now here is what's crazy as I got older I started thinking deeper and deeper as i grew older and the more it played in my head I started to realize that her smile was sinister. So here's more crazy stuff my sister visited me one time and we were just talking about our past and I brought this story up which I never told anyone and she looks at me shockingly and says How do you know this And I said Because I seen it. She then proceeds to follow up with I seen that exact ghost with the same description as you described and there is no way you knew because I never told you. I got goosebumps etc. Anyways this face has been etched in my head for decades now lol. This is why I believe in ghosts. I later found God when I hit a deep rock bottom and got pass my arrests etc and I have never turned back but I had a lot of weird supernatural encounters since believing in God as well. Anyways yeah my household was dark due to my parents so it wouldn't be surprising some sinister entity wanted to hangout there lol.

He may not have meant it like this but his saying that one of the, if not the, main causes of the Reformation is a belief in ghosts that led to the sale of indulgences and Luther saying we need to stop believing in ghosts and therefore Reformation isquestionable history.
There were many things that coalesced together in society and the mind of Martin Luther that prompted the Reformation and the sale of indulgences was one of them, but it had nothing to do with Luther thinking we need to stop believing in ghosts at all lol
Belief in ghosts was the least of Luther’s concern at that time.

I don't believe in ghosts or the supernatural, even though I have experiences of the 'supernatural' myself. In the end, everything can be explained by reason and human brain activity.
For example, we used to play as kids with friends and my girlfriend on a Ouija board, and it told things about the future five years ahead, like that my girlfriend would have a miscarriage, what year we would get married, or when she would cheat on me.
There are many other examples too.

The white wedding dress did not become traditional until after 1840, when it was popularized by Victoria’s marriage to Albert. Even so, the white wedding dress did not become common until later, when people had more disposable income and could afford a dress that was worn once. White is a traditional color of burial cloths. White is also a color of grieving in Asia.

Freshest pull ever. And I think the person asking about 90s ghosts needs to get out more. I gave a ghost tour back in 2016 with some 80s and 90s ghosts and people definitely say they see animal ghosts. My high school had a haunted chair. I think a lot of the people asking these questions haven't engaged with a lot of ghost stories

Another great video! I'm a skeptic yet I recently had an experience and I'm pretty rattled about it. As a skeptical person I can, on the one hand, say that it was just my mind playing tricks on me. but emotionally, I can say it was a significant emotional experience that still affects me, and probably always will.

Unfortunately spirits don't exist therefore there cannot be ghosts of spirits.
It's like asking if there's a werewolf hiding under your bed. Werewolves don't exist so one cannot be hiding there.
You don't need to be frightened of the imaginary.

9: 40 Both my best friend and I, as well as my mom, have separate experiences seeing/hearing/feeling the ghost of our dead dogs. And I have heard of many other people in the US having similar experiences. I wasn't aware that was rare lol

I wish he answered two questions I have. My first one was what is the believable/plausible ghost story And my 2nd is can you explain the Freddy Jackson picture. It’s a shame because I really wanted to him to talk about those two things.

I don’t believe in an afterlife
However I also know I have witnessed things I am unable to explain.
My conclusion live a good life, be a good person maybe if I’m wrong I’ll still I qualify for any after party there may be.

Fascinating, thank you.
I thought that I'd share that both my Dad and Brother don't believe in ghosts and yet have seen them. I asked them what they thought they were, and they just said I've no idea
Odd, as I'd have just said ghosts, lol

I'm Icelandic and I'm shocked that he got the information that 60% believe in ghosts. That blows my mind because I don't think 95% of younger people believe in them but I could be wrong, I'm not a scientist lol

The most common theory about poltergeists is that it's an entity that uses the excess energy of a child or teenager to make itself heard and can therefore do things; sometimes it pretends to be a dead person.

I’m not always interested in the subjects presented in these vids but I watch them knowing that I’ll have a good time seeing the experts getting so excited talking about what they love

I'd love to get a sense of what percentage of cultures believe in ghosts. Obviously it's not like there's a finite number of cultures, but even just a rough estimate would be fascinating.

we had the ghost of a young man in 90s gear back in mid 2000s. He was seen by several people who visited us. We think it was the spirit of my husband's nephew who died in his early 20s

I feel compelled to remind everyone that fictional stories shared by a well educated person who seems like they believe them to be nonfiction are very much still fictional stories.

Fascinating topic and I love his enthusiasm. Just dropping a comment to say that I believe you’re much more likely to feel the presence of a ghost than to actually see one.

This is super Interesting and I love his depth of expertise but I was listening to this without watching and I legitimately thought he was eating throughout the segment.
