How Big do Tsunamis Get?

How Big do Tsunamis Get? the main contributor to the tsunami was when the north east half of the Koolau crater of Oahu collapsed into the pacific, which caused a chain reaction south east down the island chain - Molokai then Maui. the same thing will happen to the Big Island of Hawaii. just off the coast of Mauna Loa, there is a literal undersea -Shelf- that is continuously being topped off by fresh lava, and is barely attached to the island. If it breaks off, it will produce a mega tsunami that will travel in the direction of South America.

Large waves are always fronted by smaller ones, the water starts to rise to a couple meters in front any size of giant wave especially once its already reached land. This is why people can survive them, they get carried in front of its full height. The only thing that could kill you is debrid or being smashed into buildings trees or rocks if you survive that consider yourself lucky.

how does a piece of land falling into the ocean create that much of a wave current? surely if falls it falls with little force in relation to the size of the ocean? I don't care how big it is. With the Italian one I kind of get because the peace of the mountain fell into a reservoir that was small in comparison. Rest of this sounds like guess work

Tsunamis are caused by earthquake, underwater volcano Eruptions, and landslides and an asteroid, the most deadliest tsunami is the Indian Ocean Tsunami, that over hit 18 countries, causing to kill 250, 000 people.
The megatsunami is lituya bay tsunami 10: 15 PM There was massive landslides and earthquake causing a mega tsunami,

CUT the meters in half and you are close to the real hight. USAmericans obviously cant work with METERS and using Feet plus the number. The Tsunami hitting us in 2004 was around 7-12m hight, wich is high enough if you have ever been close to a beach: /
cheers from Phuket

reply

if the mega tsunami from africa was about to happen and moves towards USA - do you think they could generate a similar counterwave through specific bombing? so that the waves would clash in the ocean to slim out the force?
reply

The cxichulub meteor tsunami actually hit shallow waters and caused a 100m tsunami, what the video depicts is the tsunami that would have resulted had the meteor struck the Atlantic Ocean, so yeah it fake-

The risk of canarieisland to collaps, must be less than we get hit by a spacerock, and we cant do anything about either, so just go on a live your life and care about the stuff you can do something about
reply

There is a small chance of one of the canary islands collapsing and causing a 1km high wave an d wiping out 4 very important parts of continents. That is very unlikely but -THE IDEA SOUNDS FUN-
reply

Ngl. Comments in reallifelore vids are more educated and understands, what a tsunami is, as opposed to what a 'big splash of water' aka mega tsunami is, than in infographicshow vids. Subbed.

My idea of fun: spending a hot summer's day in a water park.
RLL idea of fun: contemplating a mega tsunami that would obliterate the eastern US.
There is no in between.

How to make the biggest tsunami:
Put mount Everest near by a ocean then let it collapse boom unknown tsunami that might be bigger than the astroid tsunami

reply

6: 35 I heard about the Canary Island landslide landslide. NYC would like a scene from the Day After Tomorrow if that tsunami happened lol
reply

-Probanly the island wont collapse and wont destroy the east coast of america, but its still fun to think about-
I dont imagen it as fun tbh

reply

No one is gonna talk about how italy just casually created a inland tsunami and that turned out to be one the largest in human history. -
reply

Interesting, but so fast it was difficult to absorb everything. Metric measurements also hard to relate to, especially at that speed.

3: 52 1958: - massive wave hits alaska -
as soon as the next year starts: USA: -lets make u a state so u cant get hit like that again-

reply

Imagine when you hear about your country and the possibility of it getting covered by water
By the way, hello from Madagascar

reply

Where were these 30 and 40 meter high waves from earthquakes? How did I miss them? 30 foot high tidal forces is more like it.
reply

Ok then. How many Toyota corollas have been destroyed by natural disasters since their invention and the time I am commenting this
reply

the one with the dam makes me so angry because it was so avoidable but they had to be stubborn and kill thousands of people
reply

1. I noticed the thumbnail is different.
2. Can we just talk about what would of happened if the dam never was lowered

reply

For the prehistoric ones, how did we know these tsunamis happened? Geologist studied and figured that it happened?
reply

-Tsunami in Canary Islands-
Real life lore: East coast of USA is in danger.
