As I am planning on building something similar, I have a question about these amplifier boards. If, for example, the amp is 60W and is powered from 8-26V source, does that mean it will reach its maximum power only when given 26V or does that mean it can be powered within such voltage range because of an onboard voltage regulator? I'm not sure if I could power the amp with 12v and get decent results

I'm thinking about making a similar boombox, but incorporating two columns, 40/80w each and I'm having a hard time choosing an appropriate amplifier, taking into account that I want to power it from 12 volt source while keeping things from burning/blowing up

A idea that might fit as a arduino prodjekt is to make a arduino to a digital crossover, and using 2 digital amps (one fore the midrange and one for the tweeter.
It would also probably make the battery last longer.
