Make your own Boombox Jeffy: Interesting. I built something similar to use in my employers service van. Had a Sony cd deck with a headphone jack input to play the music off my phone, 12 Rockford fosgate subwoofer, (2) 3 way 6 Sony speakers, Rockford 500watt sub amp and another Rockford amp just for the Sony speakers all enclosed in a wooden square box but in a manner that still allowed the subwoofer to put out massive amounts of BASS. I wired and secured up front between the drivers and passenger seat in a manner that would allow me to remove it through the back of the van fairly easily. Even could use it as a small desk to write up my service invoices and eat my lunch off of.

Can you please do a tutorial on how to convert an old 80s tape Boombox to a Bluetooth Box similar to this one? Like, exchange the old Batteries with LiIon ones that charge with the power supply and a bluetooth circuit that replaces the old tape section but still uses the older buttons. I think that would look so cool!

Its a great idea but unless you want something to show off its quite expensive to do lol. Much easier to just buy a little Bluetooth speaker or premade boom box that will be lighter in weight and in pockets.

Try using a solar charge controller, it'll accept you load and keep the battery charged and maintained. When you unplug your unit from the line the battery will seamlessly power your load.

1987 was my Beach Buggy ready, and i needed a carstereo. I put a Sony cassette player in a wooden box with a amplifier and 4 speakers, the Buggy is gone, still got the stereo!

How is the range of the bluetooth with this head unit? Thinking of doing something similar for my backyard, but I'm not sure how far it will be able to reach with my phone.

By 9 hours continuously, do you mean with the batteries only? Is it possible or advisable to use it continuously while plugged to an electrical outlet?
