This is why I can no longer stand Scotty. He continues to prove over time how ignorant and unknowable he is about brands he has a strong negative bias against. The Pentastar engine did have some issues for the first 2 years of it's release. Just like many other engines from a wide array of manufactures which is common to have issues to be worked out before they become more solid.
From 2014+ onward the Pentastar has been anything but unreliable. So why is Scotty attempting to portray the 3. 6L Pentastar as being the same engine from it's initial release when they fixed it as well as upgraded it in 2015. This is very dishonest on his part. He either dislikes Chrysler to such an extent that he simply doesn't pay attention to the fast paced changes in this industry. Remember FCA uses this V6 engine in the majority of there vehicles and it's the most common engine sold by them. If this was anything like he is trying to portray in the video then the engine would have been long gone 5 years ago.
Ultimatley Scotty's biggest flaw is his inability to be Objective all because he refuses to except that a brand he hates with a passion actually isn't as bad as he tries to portray them.

Here's my theory on why cars end up breaking down. Bottom line, it's owner maintenance. Think about it. If you are rich, and you buy BMW's, you really don't care about the maintenance because you will probably just BUY another car anyways, and so you will likely skip the maintenance on those expensive cars, so that's why they break down a lot. And then on the LOW end of cars like Kia Hyundai or something cheap, those people won't service their cars because they can't afford to, they could barely afford to buy a car in the first place, so that's why those cars don't last long. The cars that last longest are the cars in the MIDDLE price range, where people feel more obligated to take care of them AND because they CAN afford to take care of them. So I think bottom line, as long as you are aware of this, then you can go ahead and BUY whatever you want to buy, AS LONG AS you keep it maintained. Now of course I'm referring to NEW cars, because God only knows what the previous owner did to that USED car, used cars are just a roll of the dice.

It's interesting that car manufacturers like chrysler can do a great job making a comfortable, nice looking car, but can't make them last and not fall apart. It's like they are only making them just well enough to sell on a dealer's lot, and no more. Engines and transmissions have been built and designed for cars over 100 years now, they know everything about them, there is absolutely no reason why they can't be built to last.

Chevy Equinox / GMC Terrain / Buick Envision should be on the list. There hasn't been a time since they came out that there weren't 2-3 in the shop here EVERYDAY. Transmissions start slipping in as little as 8k miles. Even had an engine grenade itself at 14k miles. And it's a GM, so they all have electrical problems. It's by far the worst vehicle GM has come out with in the last 2 decades.

I'd include what car brands have you bought or would buy? If anything made by Fiat Chrysler on the list, I'd end the interview right there because it shows lack of effort on researching to make good decisions. There is literally no logical reason to buy any Chrysler product but people still do it. Wouldn't want to be hiring someone devoid of logical thinking processes.

I used to have a 2013 Chrysler 200 lol hahaha that was the biggest pile of junk I ve ever had lol it s been in the shop three times in less then a year I got rid of it and now I have an Acura TSX I m never owning anything else but an Acura lol
