Love the videos Scotty and I dont even work on cars Hey wanted to pass along that some of the 2008 Honda Accords also had an oil consumption problem. Happened to my sons car it kept eating oil and making a metal on metal sound even when the oil was good. Took it to the dealer and they acted like they didnt know what was up. But when I took it to my local mechanic he found a Honda bulletin on the exact issue and sent me back to the dealer with the bulletin in hand. Dealer ended up doing some engine work all under warranty.

Lousy so called mechanics. You can clearly see the leak on the subframe. They did not want to fix it. I seen oil pressure switches pop and leak oil pretty darn quick. I seen 3. 1L and 3. 4L Gm engines with the oil pump drive seal leak which requires taking off the upper plenum to get at it. Not a hard job. I seen tons of front oil seal leaks. I would assume this would be obvious with a dental mirror or cheap camera to get a good look at this area. Oh well more money if your pocket and you gained another customer.

LOL this is the same car Im driving I bought it from my parents 04 Accord. It had the first recall for airbags and now Im gonna pick that up today from Honda for the second airbag recall. Scotty even though that things had airbag fixed dont drive it it could kill you because its likely up for a second round of airbag work starting in April officially.

My sympathies, leeks are a pain in the. Yeah thats the newer style of V-tec solenoid. Hey Scotty youre always wearing tinted glasses is this just a style choice or do you have glaucoma? Like Bono has and Burt Reynolds before he passed away. Im sure if youve answered this question before just wondering. Great video

Thats why my Honda doesnt have Vtech. On another note, I wouldnt say serious problem just annoying, at least it wasnt the rear main seal. When I had my first Honda engine I dedicated two days to replacing all seals, but after 347k plus miles that engine is long gone, RIP.

Hey Scotty, Thanks for all your videos. Can I use the UV additive to diagnose a slow oil leak in a 1998 Mercury 40 HP two stroke, oil injected, outboard motor? Im assuming yes by adding it to the oil reservoir but just wanted to double check.

I had to replace the camshaft cover gaskets in a 2004 Lexus because it was leaking a small amount oil about a tablespoon every 1000 miles and causing a burnt odor. New gaskets and some brake cleaner made a permanent fix to that problem.
